I wish I could give a 0 star. I am sitting at a Nissan dealership and the fob is worthless!!

So I had this fob professionally programmed and the store said they’ve never seen something like this. They tried several times to program it and each time the buttons took on a different function. Currently, the panic button and lock buttons do not do anything. The remote start button unlocks the car, and the unlocks button locks the car.When I try and start the car, it doesn’t recognize the fob. If I hold the fob next to the push start button, and press it, the car starts, but still says no key detected on the dash.Oh well. At least I have another fob that works properly and this is a spare. Like I said, it sorta works, lol

I checked a couple places before ordering this key fob, and the average price for a key fob replacement for my Pathfinder was around $220 for me. Luckily, I found this one from Keylessbest. When you order it, the only thing you will have to keep in mind is that you will need to find someone to program it for you. This ended up costing me just over $50 with a local locksmith. Still, that was so much less than what I would have paid for an original. When looking that this fob compared to our actual Nissan brand one, the only difference is that this one doesn’t have the Nissan logo on the shell. I was able to save quite a bit of money with this fob, so I’m happy.

The descriptions suggests it would work with my Nissan Pathfinder 2020. Youtube is full of videos claiming that all it takes is to push start button with this fob while simultaneously pressing lock button on the fob. Supposedly after that it will relearn to work with your vehicle. I tried it like 10 times to no avail. It does not work, the vehicle shows message “Invalid Key Id”. The fob comes with zero instructions on how to program it. Just a plastic ziplock. So, I have no idea how to make it work.

I have a 2017 Nissan Titan with remote start, one of the listed vehicles for this key fob remote. The product description for this remote says "Providing a self programming instruction link." There was no self-programming link provided nor paperwork of any kind. It arrived in a little clear plastic bag barely big enough to hold it.I have since learned that specialized equipment is needed to pair a new key fob remote control with a 2017 Nissan Titan, equipment that typically only Nissan dealers and automotive locksmiths have. Nissan dealers will likely refuse to pair any key fob remote not manufactured and sold by Nissan.Even if I went to an automotive locksmith and paid more than this remote costs to have it paired with my vehicle, I'd be left with a remote that has a cheap, black plastic loop for the key ring rather than the nice-looking OEM-style metal loop shown on the Amazon product photos. While the key fob can be snapped apart and back together for battery replacement, it doesn't have that solid feel of a genuine Nissan key fob remote. Whether it will last long term, and stay snapped together, I can't say.I'm going to give this three stars, simply because it is about a tenth the price of a genuine Nissan replacement key fob remote. I would not want to have it as my primary or, gawd forbid, only key for the vehicle. As an emergency spare that lives in a key cabinet on the wall, it might be okay.

A very reasonable replacement device with blank key fob for people needing replacement of the key.Remember you still need to have the fob reprogrammed but the chips and battery is included.
