Stick with Redecker brushes.
I’m trying to go eco friendly and saw these. I also saw all the mold pictures other people had posted and thought to myself they clearly did not seal the wood first before use. So I ordered two, put a few coats of mineral oil on them, and allowed them to cure for the appropriate time before ever using them. And still they both molded in a week. Despite sealing and despite letting them air out and dry after each use. One brush is actually growing something. The other one I tried to soak in bleach to kill the mold off which is why the wood is pale. It regrew the mold again in a matter of a week. Not sure what about this molds so quickly but not worth it.

falling apart after less than a week
i purchased this product because I’m moving toward a zero waste lifestyle and wanted something that is less harmful to the planet. I also needed a brush that was made of plant fibers, and this fit the bill.Unfortunately after less than a week it is beginning to crack and has black stains all over the back side (mold?!)I haven’t let it soak in water and made sure it’s back in the brush holder after each use.

Love this little kitchen brush.....Or I did, then the horsehair started coming out everywhere!!!
I love this little brush. It is not so stiff that it scratches anything, but it cleans the spots that are difficult to reach. Horsehair is soft, but tough enough to do the job.Addendum: I DID love this brush, but it was so poorly made that he horsehairs started falling out faster than my Husky’s winter coat!!!! I pulled one of the clusters out, and found that the metal clamp, that was supposed to be holding the horsehair in place, was not even close to tight. I thought that maybe it was just one or two of the little clumps, but after pulling everyone of them out I found that EVERY clamp was BARELY around the horsehair. Garbage it was, and garbage it went!!

After 4 months, great brush!
The bristles on this brush are harsh but will not quite prick your skin.It cleans a cast iron skillet well! After 4 months of medium-duty use in the kitchen, this has held up with only a very few bristles lost. At this rate,it will last one year- good value for the money. The Fuller brush all-purpose has natural fibers on it even better than this bassine, but the Fuller wears out at the very top very quickly and exposes its wire.If you hang this bassine brush and a Fuller brush worn out at the top in your kitchen, near the sink where they can drip, you can tackle most any kitchen job; the two will last you a year or more, you'll have all natural fiber cleaning brushes, and you won't have to buy other disposable brushes.

Dish Brush is great
I love this soft horse hair dish brush. It's soft, and so it can get into corners of things. It's also nice for washing out Mason Jars when canning. It does shed bristles now and then and you MUST hang it up to let it dry out. It's made of wood and hair (natural) so it must be dried. It's one of my favorite brushes.

My favorite dish brush!
For years I've been using dish brushes that quickly get discolored and the bristles become bent and tangled. I bought this Fox Run brush several years ago and tucked it into the back of a kitchen drawer because it looked flimsy. I had thrown out an ugly old brush and didn't have a replacement, and happened to find the wooden one with fiber bristles. I discovered it's sturdy, easy to clean, and takes all kinds of abuse without getting disfigured. It even gets pots and pans clean and still looks good! So I bought six more: one for me and one for each of my grown kids' kitchens.

Cheap quality- bristles fall out
Not sent what is pictured. It had softer bristles and after first use half fell out! Using it til they bristles all fall out. Wanted to love it. Leaves behind bristles On dishes. Very disappointing. Only two stars for presentation because it was wood and looked nice when opened. Update: I tried another one because I saw reviews that said it was great. Not so! Bristles come right out. I really wanted to give it a try. If you don’t mind picking off bristles from the dishes you wash, then give it try. The only reason it got a two stars is because it is a great sturdy wood handle.

A favorite for washing dishes. The small head a plus.
I've always washed my dishes with this style of brush, which used to be called in former lifetime a vegetable brush. I like not having to get my hands wet when I do a few dishes. What's great about this FoxRun brush is the head's smaller diameter enables one to brush inside glasses. The other brushes have heads which are too big to get inside a lot of glasses. The only downside is, at the end of the handle, this brush has the screw-in circular hook, which really isn't useful. The other larger-head brushes all have hooks at the end of the handle, perfect for hanging off a dish rack. What I do is repurpose hooks from the other brushes when they are retired.

Fake advertisement
Beware! This is NOT HORSEHAIR. I have bought a RedDecker Horsehair Brush and the bristles are so soft, this Fox Run brush is no way real horse hair. The bristles are so sharp and hard, just like a plastic one. It’s scratched my wooden plates and Y non stick pots. Shame!

good for the price
I see a lot of negative reviews but I'm not sure what people expected for an untreated wood brush that costs so little? I got this because its completely compostable, I switched to using my homemade bar soap and this brush to do dishes to avoid plastic waste and its been working great for me the way I do dishes. I have had no issues with mold, but that being said I do drop several drops of thyme essential oil directly onto the bristles every few days because it has the same anti-bacterial power as bleach without ruining clothing. No mold would survive thyme, its very caustic and I would suggest using it if using anything wood and natural bristle thats going to come into contact with bacteria and wetness all the time.

Looks and works great, but turns black if you use it daily.
I love the way it looks, and it works well. Unfortunately after only a few uses it started turning black. I would hang it to dry in an open area, but just not something that can work for me on a daily basis. If this is something you’re not going to use daily and has time to fully dry between uses it would be good, but for me I had to return it. Not a good daily dish cleaning brush.

Love this brush, wish it was more easily accessible.
I love this dish brush. Eco-friendly, and works well. It also holds it's quality a long time. I just put a tiny bit of dish soap on the wet brush itself and am able to clean almost a full sink of dishes on that alone. My reasoning for 4 stars is simply because it is hard to find replacement heads. My purpose in buying this brush was to reduce waste, but it is hard to do that without being able to replace the head. The bristles are compostable with a compost system, so this option is best if you have a compost system in your city.
