I Already Love this Watch
I first saw a picture of this watch pop up in my Facebook News feed in an ad for something or another and instantly fell in love with it. I randomly put “Seiko Solar Chronograph” in an Amazon search and found the exact watch. After a few days of considering it, I decided to pull the trigger and just happened to find it on sale as an “Amazon Warehouse Deal.” So, it was even cheaper than the average $189 that Amazon Prime has it listed for.I have been thinking about and looking around for a nice chronograph in my size range with a NATO strap for a year or two to become my daily-wear summer watch. Metal bracelets get so hot and leather can start to smell with sweat.I love “oversized” Chronographs. My go-to is about 43mm to 45mm. That is my sweet-spot. Not super expensive ones either. I have not been able to justify (as much as I want to) spending thousands of dollars on an Omega – a Planet Ocean or maybe a Speedmaster would be my dream watch and the first thing(s) I’ll buy when I win the lottery. My daily wear watch is a Victorinox Maverick Chronograph. I swap that out every-so-often with a Victorinox Chrono Classis XLS. Once in a while, I’ll wear one of my many Invicta watches. I have a few of those that I really love. When I opened the box, I was immediately pleased. It was everything I was hoping for. The diameter is just slightly larger than Maverick, but is seems to sit on the wrist a little lower. The face is the blue of faded denim - It’s unique. The sub-dials appear to be a darker navy blue, or maybe black. The Tachymeter ring is either blue, grey, silver, or black depending on how the light hits it. All the numbers and indices are white. The chronometer second hand sweeps like an Automatic. While the sub-dials are small, I don’t have much of a problem seeing them. But as other people have commented, the date window is ridiculously small. Today is the first of the month and I can clearly see the date, but I can’t imagine being able to read it when it is the 27th for example. The NATO strap is very comfortable and the perfect length for my seven-inch wrist. The color scheme of the strap included is nice and looks great with the colors on the watch face. The center orange stripe accenting the color of the Tachymeter hands perfectly. As nice as that strap is, I can’t see it being my daily use strap. I have already ordered about six other NATO straps to swap out with. I like to match my watch with what I am wearing. Strange, I know. The lume is average. It seems to be on par with most of my other watches. It is adequate, but it is nowhere near as bright as my Seiko Military Chronograph (SNDA27P1, I think). I can pretty much read at night by the lume that watch puts off.As stated, I am incredibly pleased with this watch and know that it is going to be high in my rotation and will be my “go-to” summer watch. I can see this watch being the only watch I bring on Summer vacations along with a few different straps to change the look of the watch. The fact that it is Solar is a huge bonus. I will never have to replace the battery on this watch.

Quality watch for the motorsports enthusiast!
I'll start off by saying that I was a bit nervous ordering this watch because of its dimensions. It goes without saying that its case diameter and lug-to-lug dimensions don't exactly fall within the "Goldilocks Zone" for most watch aficionados. That said, I have a similarly sized watch I have been able to wear on my almost 7" wrist (somewhere between 6.75" and 7”) and figured I could just return it if it didn't feel the part...I am so glad I did! This watch recently went on sale on Amazon for what I think is an unbelievable value for how much watch you get. Its chronograph is a sight to behold for a solar quartz as the seconds hand sweeps smoothly across the dial... Very mechanical-like. The main dial features a tachymeter as well, which makes this a "double-duty" watch.Speaking of dials, the hour markers are raised and the minute markers that accompany them sit within a beautiful "dark-chrome" backdrop that goes perfectly with the blue center of the main dial. The blue itself looks so much better in person than in pictures, but just now that it isn't a bright blue. It's a very subdued but still brilliant looking blue, with a grayish hue, that must be seen in person and various lighting conditions to be fully appreciated. The sub-dials add amazing depth to the watch as they not only sit below the main dial, but they also make use of a dark translucent material in order to let light in for charging the battery. I own Citizen Eco-Drive watches so I'm not new to this, but on this Seiko, it is prominent in a very elegant way as it contrasts the sub-dials just enough from the main dial. It simply works. The "Gulf Livery" inspired NATO strap it comes with is very nice and lots of fun to wear. I ordered a Benchmark 22mm dark-gray leather NATO that makes the watch seem classy while still being extremely comfortable to wear. I alternate between both, depending on my mood and activities. For the money, you won't find very many "race inspired" watches with this level of quality and as many features as this specific model in the Seiko Recraft series offers.

Race-inspired look
This watch is gorgeous. In my opinion, it captures the spirit of motorsports through the following: first, the obvious Gulf color theme (especially on the Nato strap) that is used by many teams in motorsports; second, the design of the minute bezel; third, the orange tinge of the seconds hand's tip and the hand of the chronograph subdial; fourth, the layout of the three subdials; and fifth, the brushed, metallic blue finish of the dial. All five of these aspects of the watch's design come together to execute a racing-inspired look. And I think this is what Seiko had intended to convey.I agree with some who say that the SSC667 is a watch that exhibits a retro look, but I must also add that the vintage appearance is just one aspect of its design. One should not just buy this watch just for that and without knowing what I think is the main purpose of its design. One should purchase the SSC667 because he knows what it is supposed to represent, which I believe is a tribute to motorsports racing. If you have ever sat behind the wheel of a proper race/sports car you might notice that the dial is reminiscent of the gauge cluster of such car. That said, I think Seiko nailed it in execution. The only complaint I have is that the date window is too small. You would need to have very good eyesight to make out the number through it. Other than this everything else is great.

Genial reloj!Muy bonito diseño, funciones, uso versátil. El único pero... fechador que se debe consultar con mucha luz debido a ubicación un tanto oculta por localizarse debajo de las celdas solares que a la vez se encuentran debajo de carátula principal.

love this watch
this watch is awesome for the price. while seiko may not be the flashy brand, its high quality and looks incredible. the only knock on this watch is that the band has wear and tear after a while. the holes get stretched and worn with repeated use. I contacted seiko and bought extra bands because i really like these specific ones and the colours, however, you can get any band for this watch - metal links, or get another nato type band as well...

Excellent watch.
This watch is absolutely stunning. The finish is flawless. Very solid and sturdy, you can see and feel the quality. Keeps excellent time. Such a reasonable price for the quality - should cost double what it's selling for. I'm very pleased with it.

Seiko really upped their game
Seiko have hit a home run with this model at the pricepoint. Top notch build quality and fantastic retro looks if that's your thing. Its very evocative of racing chronographs from the 60s & 70s, which is precisely the aesthetic Seiko was going for here with the blue racing colours. Its not a small watch, but it wears very comfortably on the wrist with the supplied NATO strap. I'd recommend it over watches twice the price.

Precioso reloj con cronógrafo y solar
El reloj es mucho más bonito en persona que en las fotos, la calidad es excepcional. Lo único que nunca me gustó fue la correa e inmediatamente le puse una correa café de piel y con ella se ve excelente!
