I Can Read It, Word List

Great condition
I got this used and the condition was almost perfect. I definitely would buy more used books through this seller. This is part of the Bookshark Homeschooling curriculum, so the book itself is great for the LA for 1st grade.

Good for the motivated learner
So far so good. Have not bought an I Can Read book yet, wanted to see how she did with the word list first. It is boring - it's just lists of words. But my almost 5 year old (who is a very motivated learner) doesn't seem to mind. I also promised her once she learns the words from the first 3 lessons that I would buy her the I Can Read Book 1, which she is looking forward to. May not be a good fit for a child that has a shorter attention span, or that is less interested in learning to read...but then this is my first time teaching so we'll see.

Great tool to memorize frequently used words in the story book.
We got this to read before an I can read book. It looks really boring but boy does it work. My 6 year old reads a word list with ease now and the repetition is really helpful.

Five Stars
It's simple but it's nice. We needed it to complete our Sonlight Language Arts 1 curriculum.

Just a list of words that sound similar. I use it for spelling for my young children.

Fine if you Just Want a List of Words (in Book Format)
It's a list of words. I bought it because it was written/recommended by Sonlight but it was a waste of money (at any price, but definitely at $9.99). It is demotivating for kids to read what looks like a book only to find out it's really flashcards of words in a book format. At least with flashcards you can play some games with them and make it fun. The book was de-motivating for my child. A huge disappointment.
