Love it ! Buy it.
I lost about 70% of my hearing in my right ear. I had a $4,000 hearing aid and it worked great. Like everything small, things get lost.This is the perfect solution to loosing hearing aids. First off my comparison is based on 1 pricy hearing aid and a few cheap (lost) hearing "amplifiers" ($50). It is important to understand the difference where hearing aids reduce background noise and amplifiers do not. Example in a movie with background music and you can't understand the actors. No matter how much you turn it up, the background noise will always over throw the actors voice.About this item:1. It is fantastic value and worth the spend.2. It is a little bit soft for my level of hearing. It would be nice if it was just a little bit louder. I still use it every day and love it.3, The amplifier does try to amp up only the voice range so I would rate it better than a $50 amplifier.4. The amplification is "smooth". The sound is heard as if my ear just worked better.5. With loud noise like my high pressure kitchen sink water spraying, I hear soft "clipping" sounds which I guess is an overload. Turn the water off and the clipping stops.6. At sports, loud events, I don't hear "clipping" sounds. It could be overloading anyway and I just can't hear the soft clipping sound over the event sounds. Either way it works normally after loud events. If your concerned, I guess you could pull the battery but I never do.7. I can sleep on it / ear to pillow without a sound feedback screech.8. The ear canal is soft rubber and works great but the body of the unit is hard plastic in the ear. It takes a bit to get used too. I have very small ears, I think if I had bigger ears this wouldn't be an issue.9. Good batteries lasts about 2 and a half days if you take the battery out at night.10. I only have had the unit for a few weeks so I can't speak to it's lifespan.11. I did cut the plastic "pull" string / ball in half to reduce the visual appearance. You can push on the outside of your ear and squeeze the unit out without the pull string. (Try it before cutting)In summary, I love this unit.

They're quite effective. But there is no warning when the battery is about to expire. They just stop working. The earbuds included are harsh on the ear canal. So I use them without the ear buds. When seated correctly there is no feedback.

It's true. You get what you pay for. First, and it was probably me, but I thought I ordered a pair. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found one.So, I put the battery in, following the directions. As I continued to read, I completed the things necessary to get it working. I used the included screw driver to adjust the volume, but it wouldn't adjust. When I looked at the plastic screw using the enclosed magnifying "card", I found the screw was flat, with no slot, and the red markings gone.I will return it and will have to think seriously about ordering something of this type from Amazon again.

Poor Sound. Stopped working after 3 days.
I purchased these to use during meetings. The sound quality was horrible. Even after I adjusted the sound there was a lot of feedback noise. Then after the 3rd day of use they stopped working entirely. I even tried 3 different new batteries and it still didn't work. DO NOT purchase these.

Its hard to figure out (no user instructions included)
My parents were not able to use this device, All the parts are very small and no instructions on how to use. Wasted my money so don't do the same.

A really useful addition would be a limiter for sudden loud sounds
The selection of attachments allows for reasonable comfort and elimination of feedback. The maximum volume could be a smidgen higher, and there seems to be some distortion at the top end. Also, the volume control is difficult to adjust, too tight. A really useful addition would be a limiter for sudden loud sounds, which can cause discomfort.Overall, good value for money.
