You can either use this as 2 independent shelves, or stack them 2-high. But be careful, there is not much holding the top half down with the fastening system. Overall, this is not that big which could be ok if you are putting it inside a cabinet or something. The instructions are not that clear but it's easy enough to figure out how you're supposed to assemble everything.

These shelves are handy in organizing the pantry. I used them as 2 independent shelves as my pantry shelves are high. These shelves are not deep but sturdy enough to hold several pounds of pasta, The attaching clips included is a good idea to hide the sharp edges of the screw. The coating paint is thick and well done. No scratches, blemishes, found, and I checked. Good workmanship. They’ll look good even on open shelves. And they are very functional.
