Can you use raw meat to make soup

No, you need to cook meat first as soup maker process only takes 20-25 mins. I made a chunky vegetable soup & added shredded chicken afterwards.

How much soup is made? Vegetables plus liquid to 1600mls is not much

You would really be surprised how much vegetables you can add, and there is a minimum/maximum level for liquid. I batched cooked leek and potato soup, cutting up two leeks, including some of the green section, an onion and a potato, a teaspoon of garlic paste, and then added about half a litre of vegetable stock. It made up 7 x 250ml portions, which I have packed individually into plastic soup bags and frozen. Hope this helps.

Is the mixer blade completely flat or is one end bent downwards? Just wondering whether I need to return it as it has arrived in this condition.

Completely flat, if it's at an angle I'd return it as it's probably damaged.
