RGT Bass Guitar Playing Early Preliminary-Grade 2

I highly recommend this book.
I'm not entirely sure if this is the most current version of this (they don't change them very often) and if you're planning on doing grade exams you will need to make sure it is.This is a great book. The registry of Guitar Tutors is the exam board of the London College of Music. Unlike more classical-based exams there is a section on improvisation included - OK, maybe not quite as vital for a more classical approach - I've never seen improv. on the proms for example, but it's still an important skill to have as a musician. This book covers a well-rounded approach to grades 1-2 as well as the preliminary grade, including scales and arpeggios (thankfully no chords on bass!) as well as improvisation, sight reading, musical and instrument knowledge amongst other things. If you're looking to learn to play bass with a modern, practical approach going with RGT is the best approach there is.

Good value because it includes exam entry forms for three ...
Good value because it includes exam entry forms for three levels. Clumsy layout though - all three levels are included in each section, which is not intuitive.
