I've read the reviews, especially the negative ones. They're all saying the same thing: Very strong smell, oil gets in your hands and won't leave, unsure if it will do the job it claims.I'll tell you... this freakin WORKS. Let me give you a bit of background on myself and why I'm in love with this product.I'm an american born filipino man. My blood type is O+. I live in South Texas where it's humid 10 (sometimes 11) out of the 12 months. The weather here sucks. I'm born and raised here in south Texas, and I'm still not used to it. I'm in the Army, we go outside. I workout in afternoons in my garage with the garage door open, I'm outside. I like to shoot arrows in my backyard, I'm outside again. Everything I love to do is all outside. I usually would do these things in the winter when the mosquitos are too dead to eat me.Ever since I was younger, mosquitos have always been attracted to me. Out of all my friends, mosquitos go to me over them. We've tested it, multiple times during many years. We'd stand in a circle in shorts and T-shirt. I get on average about 80% of them biting me. We stick out our arms side by side, my friends are all amazed seeing the mosquitos dance over their arm and plunge into mine.When doing morning PT with my Army guys, there's always one that says "Man the mosquitos just aren't biting today huh?" meanwhile, I have accumulated over 25 bites while standing in morning formation.Trust me, if anyone hates mosquitos and always questions their purpose for existing, it's me.The ingredients listed on this product are all natural, no DEET or any other chemicals. It's just citronella, peppermint, and wintergreen oil. This is as NATURAL as you can get. They get these oils to stick by soaking them in crushed up corn cob and then put the whole mixture into a bag of cotton. So yeah, this thing is going to smell, because the area needs to be permeated by the oil.Ask yourself, would you rather smell this strong version of this smell and it works? Or spray sticky Off or Cutter brand stuff with DEET on your skin?I'll put 4 bags in my garage. 3 at the front of the door, and one in the back of the garage. give it 15 minutes, then I go outside and workout. 0 MOSQUITOS will bite me. As a test, I started working out and DID NOT put these bags out. When i placed the bags, within 15-20 minutes, the bites actually stopped. This is at 630 pm in the evening with a humidity of 80% and it just rained the night before. This condition is prime mosquito hunting conditions.I'm tempted to make my own version of this mixture of ingredients. Yes the oils get in your hands, because they're oil based. That's what allows the smell to linger for multiple days. Yes it may get a bit sticky on your hands after it dries. Wear gloves before placing them then.We even used a bag during the renaissance festival. Our group would get one bag, and lightly rub parts of our costume to transfer some of the oil there. It's just enough so we wont have a strong smell, but enough to keep mosquitos away to bite other people attending the festival.Sorry this was so long winded. If you read this to the end, just know i really put my heart and soul into this review. I love these so much. I hate mosquitos so much.

First, I would like to see the two babies in the picture advertised afterwards because I know they all got bit up!Whatever chemicals were in the bags did not work to repel mosquitoes, but the extreme peppermint sent did really well in making the inside of my tent pleasant!The only time this product repelled or killed the mosquito was when I physically threw it at one!Do yourself a favor. Read my review and save your money go buy the spray somewhere else this product did not work 1000% did not work.I would return it, but I wasted all of them on physically repelling mosquitoes with the bags, not the chemicals!

Works good for a natural product to keep mosquitoes away. My only complaint is if they get wet (rain, morning dew) they lose their potency and don’t work as well, but if you can remember to put them away every night you shouldn’t have that problem

Have yet to see if this has helped reduce my skeeter problem as the smell is so overbearing. I threw the packets out in the areas near my potted plants where skeeters seemed to accumulate and have been to busy to garden/go back and check.No way would I use these indoors...FYI.When I had just the package closed, laying on floor of my good sized enclosed bonus room I couldn't believe how much the smell permeated the whole room, even with the little packets still enclosed in the plastic wrap within the sealed (like a zip lock type seal) bag. I had opened the package initially and threw out one of the packets by my large pot on porch and then when I cane back home yesterday I threw more outback...leaving the whole bag outside...but haven't walked back in/out those ways yet..been using alternative access because of the overbearing smell. I want to see if the packages, and the entire sealed bag with remaining packages, being outdoors with wind passing through might decrease the smell, yet still be affective.I'll update this after I check today but really...the products are really in those packets. Smells highly like chemicals vs oils, can't remember right now what's in them but whatever works, if it works and the smell settles down....I know I'm very sensitive to smells but I thought I'd try these anyhow, despatate...I think these would be too overbearing for the average person though.If they work I'd rather have to avoid some areas where I've left the product a few days so I can avoid all the bites that give me welts and send me to urgent care that i typically get/go through....Crossing my fingers.Again, will update...

I used the entire package and within several days we did not have the mosquitos hanging out in the stairway. It definitely wakes up the senses too but worth having. Can now leave front door open when need to.

These don’t work. The little scent they have to repel mosquitoes, quickly fades. Packets are also oily so beware

I had same experience as another reviewer with inner bags coated in oil. I placed the 8 packets around outside with paper underneath to protect surface. That was a mistake! Got oil all over hands that was very difficult to remove with soap and water. Had to use vinegar which helped some but smell still there. Apparently I didnot read description very well as I didnot know what to expect. I did check reviews before I ordered but missed the most important one. Most were very glowing. I have not opened second bag and will just toss in trash. Too much trouble to return anything. Just warn others what to expect.Packets already placed get tossed tomorrow. Do not want to go through that oil problem again right now. At this point do not know if this item would have worked or not.

I live by the beach in Long Beach and we are inundated with the tiny ankle biter mosquitoes. Unfortunately I am allergic to them and they are a huge problem for me. We put these by the doors and I also have one next to my bedroom door. They work great.
