Having children with special needs (speech & Language, Missing chromosome etc) we alway appreciate it when we can try new learning resources.We have had the chance to try so many products from Learning sources and are so grateful.You may look at the retail price (£17.50) and think I’m not paying that but to be fair I would say there products are worth every penny.We have changed the name of this product to ‘What’s in the Bag?’ It has helped my children so much with there shapes, colours and textures.The quality is fantastic, very thick sturdy plastic, decent size, bright colours and even comes complete with a red drawstring bag.Very compact, lightweight and could be taken on the move and store anywhere.We have made up many games but I also love the fact it comes with a set of activity cards to give you so brilliant ideas.I find that Learning Resources provides items that my children are currently using in preschool.

A great set for teaching young children about colours, shapes and textures. In the box, you receive 20 plastic tiles in 5 shapes (rectangle, triangle, hexagon, square, circle) and colours (red, blue, green, orange, purple) and four textures (bumpy, smooth, ridged, rough). There are six suggested activities or games that you can play with this set, and many more you could make up yourself. One of the activities or games is to match one of the included picture cards (10 in total) with one of the tiles in the bag -- the child will be matching a shape or texture. The activities and games are listed and explained in the printed, folded A5 instruction booklet in four different languages (including English). The booklet, tiles and cards fit in the provided bright red and patterned drawstring bag and can be stored in this when not in use. This makes the set very portable so it would be suitable for going our shopping or travel. The price point of £17.50 is quite steep for such a simple set of activities/games but the quality of the contents in some way explains this. I am therefore happy to recommend.

These are great for kids learning about shape, colour and texture. It helps them pay attention to their sense of touch, by having to guess the shapes in the bag. The pieces are sturdy and a good size. My kids also like just playing with them, stacking them up, making patterns and sorting them into groups. I think these would be a good addition to a preschool classroom.

I got this shape set to use in work and have been impressed with them so far. They can be used with children aged 3+The set certainly helps younger children / children with additional learning needs learn about different shapes, colours and textures as well as aiding them in developing their fine motor skills. The quality of the set is impressive as the different sized pieces are made from a very thick and sturdy plastic meaning they will not easily break and will last for a good few years. The shapes are also very attractively coloured and come in a red drawstring bag which really does help with storing the shapes. The set can be used to aid development and understanding of mathematical shapes as well as basic construction as a set of handy cards are included with the set which gives ideas and tips on how to maximise use of the set.Overall this is a lovely set and offers great versatility and good value for money. I would certainly recommend!

As a reading mentor and tutor, I am always on the lookout for multi-sensory tools to use, and these Tac-Tiles are fantastic for early learning. They are aimed at children aged 3+.Inside the box, oddly empty - as three quarters of the package consists of a cardboard insert, but be careful you don't miss the cards slipped inside! However, what you do receive is an activity guide, a drawstring bag (ideal to allow you to carry these easily) 20 different tiles in five different shapes (triangles, circles, squares, rectangles and hexagons) and four different textures (bumpy, smooth, ridged and rough), as well as ten cards.These tiles are perfect for helping develop the awareness of shapes and colours, improving language skills, patterns, matching games, patterns and counting. I love these and can think of lots of ways that I can use these - although you may think it has nothing to do with reading, certainly patterns and helping visual memory is involved and I always like to end sessions with a game, so these are a fun, learning activity that have lots of uses.

This Learning resources teaching tac tiles are great! This is a good educational toy and will keep your kids busy and at the same time learning! Size is just right! colorful and good for recognising shapes and matching different shapes with different design! Good value for money! Great for gifts

The plastic Tac-Tiles are a combination of various designs, colours and textures surface and are all different from each other. This set will lend itself to variety of usages and learning experience for young children. The set was given to our 3+ year old grand-daughter and there was some discussion about the pieces and how to describe the various shapes and so forth. The pieces can be kept in the bag which comes with this set. We did have thought that the nursery class might find this a useful set which we will donate this to at some later point in time.

La confezione comprende un comodo sacchetto in stoffa, 20 tasselli di plastica in 5 forme e 4 consistenze diverse (liscio, rigato, ruvido e arrotondato), 10 schede di attività e un manuale di istruzioni multilingue, tra cui ahimè NON è incluso l'italiano, ma il gioco è molto intuitivo. I bambini devono scegliere una carta di attività e devono provare a tirare fuori dal sacco la forma e la consistenza corrispondente usando solamente il tatto, dunque, il sacchetto è necessario per poter giocare, ma utile anche per poter conservare facilmente il gioco evitando che vengano presi dei pezzi. Assistante maternelle j'ai utilisé ce jeux pour un atelier sur mon thème du mois qui était "découverte des formes".J'ai pu le décliner et l'adapter selon l'âge et les capacités de chaque enfant de 4 mois a 2 ans et demi.Les plus petites ont manipuler les formes, chaque formes a des reliefs différents, donc super niveau sensoriel.Elles ont touché gratté frotter entre elles, observé les couleurs.La plus grande a fait le jeux d'association, bien complexe en prenant en conte la forme et son relief sans la couleur.Bref un jeux top qui peut être décliner pour le plus grand bonheur des enfants qui ont toutes adorée cet atelier 😉

I have a student with visual difficulties and wanted something more tactile. These have proven fun (and educational) for all of my students. (preschoolers with special needs). We use them in shape hunt games, sorting, and in the feel bag. I am sure I will come up with more ways to use these pieces and I haven't even read the directions yet.
