A great 21st century product
I have the whole house fitted with Aladdin bleeders, apart from one manual just in case.Works a treat, no more routine going around and around bleeding radiators; apart from major plumping works. So hopefully less air = less corrosion, I need to find out the typical life cycle of this technology .

They work but have a limited life
I use these for the tall radiators in the bathrooms. They work well but have a limited life and need replacing after 5 years or so.

O.K. if you are down to speed 1 of 3 on the circulating water pump
Went through a bad patch with the central heating and tried these. If you are down to speed 1 of 3 on the water pump then these work o.k. If you crank the circulating pump back up to a normal speed II of III then the pressure difference seems too much and these stopped working.

Works well
I have one of the larger 1/2 type on a towl radiator in my upstairs bathroom and works well to stop it filling with air. On replacing the rad in my downstairs bathroom I needed to fit this smaller type and so far it is working well. On first fillup of the rad it bled itself and the gushing sound the old rad it replaced seems to have gone.Giving 4 stars are it does stick out quite a bit when using the 1/4 adapter (see pic) and you need to use ptfe tape as there is no O ring the seal. The 1/2 version sits nice and flush and does not need ptfe. Otherwise seems good.

Doesn't fit
Comes with adaptor for two different sizes of bleed valve. Neither is the right size for my towel rail/rad.So I can't really say it's good value, either.

A Radiator vent valve that actually works
I will start off by saying that I live in the United States. Over the years I've always had air in my heating system, the bleeder valves that are available locally work mediocre at best. So, I went on a quest to find a bleed valve that actually works. After scouring the internet I discovered Aladdin Autovent. The reviews were very encouraging so, I promptly purchased two of them. The wait was a bit long however, I expected that it would be so seeing that it was coming all the way from Britain. The installation instruction says to unscrew old vent valve and screw in Aladdin Autovent it should be that easy. Only thing is, it wasn't that easy for me. As I pointed out before I live in the United States, and over here we use NPT as a standard pipe thread, the Aladdin Autovent is made for the British market and uses BSP threads which I totally overlooked during purchase. They were not readily available but I was able to get adaptors to adapt BSP to NPT. My Aladdin was finally installed, at first it didn't seem to be doing anything so, I walked away. After 24 hours of use my radiators were piping hot for the first time in many years. No air in system. I don't know how it works nor do I care it must be magic. I highly recommend the Aladdin for hard to bleed heating systems. As a foot note I would recommend adding a BSP to NPT adaptor for the US market.
