Very nice coffee BUT… .take care when opening the ring-pull top as it's likely to explode fine coffee grounds into your face (as has just happened to me). The US and Canada have issued a recall on these cans for this reason and some people have even claimed that the ring-pull lid itself has blown off with some force. There is supposed to be a valve in the bottom of the can, but it has been omitted from some which causes an over-pressure inside the can. If you know to look for it, it's easy to check if there is one.

I have purchased this product for several years from here. Took advantage of some low prices earlier in the year to stock up, when I came to use them I did not get the normal rush of air as I opened the tin. Illy coffee is vacuum packed in Nitrogen to maintain its freshness and flavour, lack of a fizz of air meant that the coffee was not be fresh - in fact it had a bitter acrid smell. Of the four tins I bought earlier in the year, 3 of them had this problem. One of the tins was clearly not properly sealed on the bottom, leaving a very sharp edge. After some laborious process involving a hidden web link and some dumb software I did get a refund for one of the orders. Will buy from elsewhere going forward, at least a simpler case to return if I get a similar problem.

I have had this on auto order for two years, occasionally we got the odd bad can (and binned it) but now we had 6 cans all made on 18/10/2019 at around 06.51, in the morning, they were appalling, rancid, instead of the beautiful sweet chocolate smell when you pop the lid, we got rancid burned toasted vomit smell, maybe a worker fell into the machine?. Well we still tried to make coffee from it but oh wow what a palate attack, it was like drinking powdered vomit. The problem is the deal was good when you buy on subscription. But I can't risk getting another batch this goop.

Love illy coffee. I was served this coffee during my long haul flight in business class during my recent business trip. So decided to invest a coffee machine and have purchased this coffee. Classico medium roast just perfect for my taste as I can drink it black without sugar even. It has really smooth but strong flavour. Smell great too! I have now ditched Nescafe instant coffee. Illy helps wake me up and get me through the day especially long distance driving. I love opening their cans and you hear the pop of freshness and their great aroma surrounds your nose. This is a must have for coffee lover.

Bough these handy little tins for work to use with my aeropress. It's not the worst coffee I've ever had but even with a small amount of coffee (less than recommended on the tin) it tastes over strong and fairly flatly of "coffee" with no nuance to the flavour at all. Like I say, not the worst and certainly better than the awful coffee on offer at work but steer clear if your looking for something flavourful.

You can never go wrong with this coffee. You can try different other brands, and gamble with it here and there, but you can never go wrong with this Thing of illy coffee as being that truthful car that always ignited when you turned the key, think of illy as that shirt that just went well with every short or pair of jeans that you put on.For me, this is the only roast that gives me faith everytime these amateur coffee makers through their marketing gimmicks in my face and I get dissapointed.

It's surprisingly hard to find coffee that is ground fine enough for an espresso machine. Most are more roughly ground for press type jugs. Therefore the illy is really good if you have an espresso machine but don't have a bean grinder. Stays fresh OK stored in the fridge. I'm sure freshly ground beans are better but this is a great alternative for those grinder-less people like me.

I was disappointed with this coffee.First hint of aroma wasn't what I'd hoped for; that delicious Arabica coffee aroma, but more a burnt chocolate smell.There's a bitterness to the flavour which leaves a strong aftertaste.I drink coffee all day. It's all I drink. But this I'll have to mix with something else to get anywhere near palatable for drinking often.Nice tins though, will be useful.
