Great little forge.
This is, without doubt, a brilliant little knife forge: I actually want it for blade making as I use old wooden moulding planes and the blades are hard to come by. It arrives as a self assembly kit that is not particularly challenging to put together and I have fitted it to a 19 litre gas bottle. The regulator setting does not need to be very high at all and I only had to open the gas tap on the burner a fraction to get an excellent flame that heats my bar 01 steel really quickly. You can regulate the flame very well to make it hotter or, at least, more extensive and the forge is very efficient. As far as I am concerned, this is a good buy and quite good value for money: I am definitely considering getting another, larger, model in the range. It is worth setting the forge up on fire bricks or some other ceramic material as the heat does spread out to the back and front, but this is only to be expected. Overall, this is great for heating 2 to 4 inch lengths of tool steel.
