Black Coloring Pigment - 1oz This pigment is to be mixed at a ratio of 1 oz per quart or 4 oz per gallon. This pigment will make the resin or neutral based gelcoat turn the solid pigment color. Do not try to mix this with resin that already has color in them like a white gelcoat. It will not change the color of white gelcoat to the same color as the pigment, it will only lighten it. This pigment is very useful if you are making cosmetic parts as the color will hide small defects. You can also use dyed resin with fiberglass to turn the fiberglass from clear to a solid color. The dye is also helpful as you can eliminate a post-production process of repainting. If you mix the dye in the resin then you can achieve the color you need right away and it will go all the way to the part instead of just being a surface coat. There are many uses for these dyes and they are a very useful tool in the composite workshop.

This is a puny excuse for paint dye. The actual size of the bottle is about 2". I lost my 20 something dollars in one gallon of gray paint. The end result was, "nuthin". The label says "for epoxy resin". Resin is mostly transparent thus the tiny bottle size. I don't think it will work by much of a margin. I believe this much ink is worth about 25c. Each.
