This is a sweet, fun, easy read
So…I didn’t find out until the end of the book that this is book 3 in a series so I’m assuming that they are interconnected standalone stories because this story was good by itself. Maybe i would know a little more about certain characters if I read the previous two books but I don’t know which characters are in those books. Regardless, I enjoyed this one.The book definitely gave me Once Upon a Time vibes in which characters were either named or inspired by a lot of popular fairy tale characters, but maybe none of the magical/fantastical elements. It’s a sweet story about gaining self confidence, trusting people, learning to love, and all of the ups and downs that come with it. There are definitely parts where I wanted to shake the characters and say “just tell them you love them already” knowing full well that I would act the same way as a 30 year old 😅I didn’t mind the dual perspectives between Luke and Sylvie because they didn’t replay the same scenes over again and with two characters that have trouble expressing emotions and tend to get caught up in their thoughts, it was nice to see both perspectives.Though I don’t see me rereading this book, I do like the series and I think I’ll check out the rest when I want/need a break from high fantasy and darker books.3.5/5 stars for me

Awesome tale of fairy-tales retold!
This book was amazing, I loved how it basically put your old fairytale into a new young teenage version. I thought it was original and thought out very well. Such an enjoyable read!

Meh
Its a sweet high school love story. The big secret driving the story is pretty weak. Pushing and pinching is the height of the "traumatic abuse". I guess it would be reasonable for a youth story, not really aimed toward adults though.
