Victor Power Kill Rat Trap M144 - Professional Design 4 Pack

Works very well for chipmunks also. Hate to kill them. they are so cute, but my property was so overrun with them that catch and release traps were no longer an option. Suggested by a pest control company. Easier and safer to use than the old wooden type traps.

Rats are very smart and I could not trap them until I used the M144. The rats are wise to peanut butter so I found that wild bird seed stuck into the peanut butter is hard to resist. The trap has a nice little cup to hold the bait that perfect for the peanut butter and seed. This is an exceptionally fast snapping trap. Nonetheless, I have had several cases where the trap was snapped and the rat was dead 5 feet away. I assume the rat was hit with a glancing blow to the head and staggered off and died.

The original Victor trap is hard to set, and results are unpredictable, as the trigger was inconsistent. This design is much better. Btw, tried other brands too, but they have other problems (and are more expensive).

Rats beware! Think twice before getting close to that bait....

Having used conventional mouse and rat traps for decades, this product surpasses old style traps in ever category of convenience and performance. It is easy to set safely, easy to remove dead rodents, and convenient to clean.

Delivery was one week late - while seller advised of late delivery and I had to purchase elsewhere, seller required me to pay for return postage which was approximately half the purchase price. Again. great product, but not so on service.

I would have to refill this trap multiple times before it even went off. Once it went off, I would only catch a rat about 1/4 of the time. I finally took a good look at the trap. The rat needs to push down the mechanism about 1/4" before it even goes off. The rat is able to eat and eat without even triggering the device. There is a "stop" that keeps the trap from completely shutting. The rat is frequently able to get away. This trap must have been designed by rats to keep from being caught. DO NOT BUY.
