Another great thriller in this series
3rd outing for Casey Butler and Sheriff Dalton. This time the trouble is sent to them from outside as a new resident is dropped on them by the mysterious council who runs Rockton. Some knowledge of previous books would be advisable before reading this book as it refers back to previous incidents. Once more we are taken on a ride of discovery of the Yukon. We meet more of the locals this time and get a look at some really evil serial killer types, both homegrown and imported. There is a lot of death in this book and we lose some characters that have been in the books from the start. There is a fairly major loose end when the book finishes so I am eagerly waiting for the next in the series.I enjoy these books for the whodunnit and I always learn something new about backwoods life. This book is still a bit bloodthirsty and still has bad language so it is for adults only.

Open air, closed room
This is the third in an enjoyable ‘closed room’ mystery series with the forests of the Yukon as the room’s walls. The room is a hidden township for dubious characters to hide out, run by the mysterious Council. It’s an unlikely but well sustained situation populated with interesting, well written characters and the opportunities for many different situations and scenery. The series is easy reading, satisfying action, fairly complex situations between main characters and an interesting backdrop of an almost frontier town. If you like a well paced story with interesting characters and story line but without any cod morality or message the Rockton series is for you. Enjoy.

Amazing!!
Another amazing book from Ms Armstrong! I think the Rockton Novels may have slid into my favourite spot that has been taken up by her Women of the Other World series for quite some time now!!I spent the entire book second guessing myself, knowing that I would never work it out - and I was right - I did not see it coming, and the ending has left it wide open for book number 4!

Book 3 and still going strong
Casey is settling in nicely, DIana is still a bitch and the sheriff is now her lover. The council drops on them a serial killer who denies all. But his arrival causes problems for all, between the lynch mob, the attempted poisoning and the chase through the wilderness Casey and co have their hands full.

Genius!
Another gripping tale from Kelley Armstrong with twists and turns right to the end. Just when I thought I had it figured out the author yelled "plot twist" and threw a spanner in the works. After a heart stopping ending that left me with more questions than answers I will impatiently await book four.

A good addition to the series
These "Rockton" books are slow to get going, so some readers may be put off by reading about the everyday mundane life in the wilderness but each book adds something to the characters background, so its worth reading.

Gripping conclusion to the series.
Absolutely fantastic, it's such a shame this is the final book in the series. We'll miss all of the characters in Rockton. Gripping from the first word until the last, you feel empathy with a majority of the characters.
