Rolson 66857 Alarm Padlock

I needed a more secure lock for my garden workshop. I saw the reviews of this lock and it seems some people found difficulty using it whereas others found it straightforward to use. I found it extremely easy to use. It is a robust well made lock, you need a good screwdriver to unfasten the bottom of the lock that houses the batteries but it came apart well and after inserting the batteries went back together like a dream. You can use it alarmed or unalarmed by turning the full shackle around. Has a great loud alarm and is heavy enough not to move in the wind.. Personally I am very pleased with this item and would recommend it.

Fabulous! We use it mostly as extra security for our bikes when we go camping. It's a good solid lock and the alarm is much louder than you expect. Very easy to use and set. It takes slightly longer than I would like (kind of gives a warning beep and then waits again before actually activating) but I'm sure it's enough to put off any would be thief. Very pleased with it.

Horrendous alarm and lock for the price. At first I thought it was fantastic it was extremely loud but overly sensitive which in a way could be W good thing cautioning those off who may try and interfere. After a matter of days the alarm system stopped working completely even with a change over of batteries, the locking system then began too rust making it impossible to unlock the padlock with the keys and it resulted in the key snapping, once we got the padlock undone we can no longer use it for what we bought it for. Just an absolute waste of time and money and I do not recommend this product at all if you’re looking for extra security you won’t get it with this.

This is pretty good, the sound is loud, well made. Comes with a spare battery. I don't know how long the battery will last but it's still going after a few months. Can also be used without the alarm. No soldsecure rating which is a shame.

This is a brilliant piece of kit for the price. You get an alarm and a disc lock all in one (fit my 2013 Bonneville a treat) and fits into a pocket. Yes it's probably easy to break so I wouldn't recommend it as a stand alone security device, but if you nipping to the shops and want something that is quick and easy to use and will deter pond life from wheeling away your pride and joy - then it's brilliant. There's a lot of entries about how difficult it is loosening the screws. They're probably using the wrong driver, I used a JIS screwdriver (Japanese Industry Standard) and had no problems whatsoever, if you don't have JIS screwdriver then I strongly recommend that you invest in a set, especially if you 're a vehicle DIYer (they are a common screw on automotive electrical devices and are not compatible with Philips or Posidrive)

Je ne mets qu'une seule étoile car le produit reçu ne correspond pas du tout au modèle affiché, l'alarme ne fait que 100 db au lieu de 110 db. De plus, la qualité du produit à l'air moins bonne que celui de l'image; ce n'est que mon avis, mais ayant déjà eu un cadenas à alarme de piètre qualité, j'avais opté pour celui-ci, car par rapport à la photo, celui-ci me paraissant justement de meilleur qualité. Au final, j'ai reçu un modèle quasiment identique à l'ancien, avec juste le logo rolson en plus (sans le mot quality rools). Ayant absolument besoin de ce cadenas, je ne le renvoi pas, par contre, il mérite bien sa petite étoile du coup...

Dieses Schloss ist genau das, was wir gesucht hatten: Beim Camping sind unsere Fahrräder meistens mit Bügelschlössern gesichert. Doch nachts ist es nun vorgekommen, dass sich Langfinger an den Schlössern zu schaffen machten. Zum Gllück hielten die Schlösser stand. Lediglich die Aufbruchversuchs-Spuren waren am nächsten Tag zu sehen. Offenbar aus Frust hatten wir dann zerstochene Reifen. Es musste eine Sicherung her, die uns auf solche Vorkommnisse aufmerksam macht. Dieses Schloss ist…. GROSS.. Das ist auch das einzig weniger erfreuliche an diesem Schloss. Ich habe ein Bild mit hochgeladen. Das Schloss ist ein ordentlicher Prügel und auch relativ schwer. Um es mit herumzufahren ist es mir zu schwer. Es bleibt daher immer am Wohnwagen (ist ohnehin für die Nacht gedacht). Dort wird es abends an die Scheibenbremse des Fahrrades gehängt. Ich möchte nun einige Kritik ausräumen: Von anderen Rezensionen war ich ein wenig verunsichert, daher versuche ich meine Erfahrung zu schildern. *** „An die Batterie kommt man nur mit Spezialwerkzeug, einem ganz dünnen Schraubendreher“ *** – Quatsch. Wie auf dem Bild zu erkennen, kommt man mit einem ganz gewöhnlichen Schraubendreher locker zu den ganz normalen Kreuzschlitz-Schrauben. *** „Der Alarm löst zu leicht/zu schwer aus“ *** – kann ich nicht bestätigen. Nach dem Verschließen ertönt zunächst ein Signalton, 5sek später ist das Schloss scharf. Bewegt man es nun, so ertönt zunächst nur ein deutlich hörbarer Warn-Alarm von etwa 3sek länge. Bewegt man es weiter, so geht die Sirene für 10Sek los. Diese ist ohrenbeteubend laut. Von der Sensibilität ist das Schloss genau richtig. Beim Öffnen habe ich hin und wieder die „Vorwarnstufe“ ausgelöst, mehr aber nicht. Das Fahrrad bewegen ohne den Alarm auszulösen ist quasi unmöglich. Durchdachtes System: Der Alarm geht nach 10 Sek automatisch aus und aktiviert sich dann wieder bei erneuter Bewegung. Das ist perfekt. Man stelle sich vor, jemand stößt versehentlich an mein Fahrrad und der Alarm dröhnt bis in alle Ewigkeit. Daher: Wer versehentlich hin stößt, bekommt bestenfalls einen kurzen Schrecken. Wer es entwenden will, der wird ohrenbetäubend beschallt. Kleiner Hinweis von mir: Die mitgelieferten Knopfzellen werden mitsamt dem Magazin eingesetzt. Den Schloss-Bügel kann man verdreht einsetzen, dann funktioniert das Schloss als normales Schloss ohne Alarm. Es werden 3 Schlüssel und die Batterien mitgeliefert. >> Fazit: Etwas zu groß und schwer zum herumtragen. Zum Sichern der Räder am Wohnwagen in der Nacht ist es perfekt zu gebrauchen.

Llego rápido, el producto es como en la publicidad, llego en perfecto estado y muy bien protegido. Cuando salta la alarma se oye mas que la del coche, esperemos que si no evita el robo les de un susto de muerte a los ladrones. Solo la pega del idioma, estos hijos de la gran Bretaña como siempre en su línea, su idioma es universal y debemos de saberlo todos, por eso las instrucciones solo vienen el lenguaje de Shakespeare.
