Blink Outdoor Floodlight Mount – Wire-free, 700 lumens, two-year battery life, set up in minutes

The light just randomly stops working. I have to delete the light from my system and re add it so it will work properly. I am not sure what I am going to do with it but it is basically useless to me if I have to constantly set this thing up a few times per month. Edit 11/17/25 Changed to 5 stars. Blink support reached out to me after my 1 star review. They did a lot of digging to find out my issue including sending me a new light and camera which had the same issue. Once they found out what router I am using they had a solution very quickly. I have T mobile home internet and my modem/router/gateway is 2.4ghz and 5ghz and it switches back and forth between the two in order to give you the best speed. This flood light is designed to run on a 2.4ghz network. All I had to do was create a second network for my home using my T mobile app and I set that one to 2.4ghz only. I used this network to migrate all of my Blink devices to. That way everything else in my house can stay on my 2.4ghz/5ghz primary network without being affected and Blink has its very own network to run without conflicts. It has been over a week now and the light works perfectly now. Big shoutout to Blink's incredible customer service!

Pros: brightness. Connectivity and functions as intended. Auto connects to the camera. Cons: battery life and some instances of disconnection issue of lights not working. Need to reconnect to the camera by reinstalling it to your blink sync module. Overall still giving it a 5 star

I have previously owned several Blink products before purchasing this Floodlight Mount (along with 2 cameras purchased from Woot). My previous Floodlight setups weren't perfect, but they generally got the job done. They would have occasional connection issues or problems with the lights not always lighting up, so I decided that when the new version came out, I would try it out to see if it would fix my (very limited) problems. Big mistake! The new Outdoor 4 Floodlight Mount has been nothing but trouble since the moment I set it up. Everything seemed to be fine until it got dark, and then the floodlights would turn on and off at random intervals for no reason. No motion was detected by the camera, and short of disabling the lighting, there was nothing I could do to stop it. Eventually (less than a week), the batteries ran down enough that the whole unit lost power. This weekend, I decided to replace all of the batteries (including the ones in the camera), hoping that there was just a bad connection or power issue. No such luck! Once it got dark, again the lights began turning on and off randomly. I called Blink Customer Support to try and troubleshoot the problem. Previously, when I called their support, I eventually figured out the problem, or they sent me a replacement. Not this time, however. After going through the normal tech support script (rebooting the device, deleting it and adding it back to the sync module, resetting my wifi) the floodlight was still turning on and off randomly. They had me send a video of it doing this to verify (the video attached to this review), and then I received the following reply: "This time we suggest you to disarmed the system first and then observe the FL mount for at least 1-3 minutes. If Floodlight mount LED panels remain OFF while the system is disarmed, then the device is working properly and we cannot process replacement." So according to the people in the Blink Customer Support if the device only malfunctions while it is armed (i.e. actually trying to detect motion) then it is working properly and cannot be replaced. I am done with Blink products after this experience. I will begin researching other companies and will make sure to have nothing further to do with Blink.

Update: moving to 5 star review. The issue was user error. I did not have the camera attached via cable when i set up/added the light fixture to my Blink account. The light fixture now works as intended. Shout out to Amazon Executive Rep (Alex) Original problem: The lights don't work...from day one. The camera is fine, but there are no lights. easy to install. The lights flash when I uninstall/install the battery.

Jan 2026 Update: changed to 4 stars. Blink sent replacements. I’m hoping that they continue to work. This still was a nuisance but I’m glad they ultimately acknowledged the problem and sent replacements. Thanks Blink! This product does not work. After having issues connecting it to the existing Cam 4, the batteries in the floodlight failed after maybe 10 days. Blink sent new batteries, and then the unit failed again after maybe another couple of weeks. Had multiple conversations with Blink, and they said they would send more batteries and that this is the only solution. The unit "not working" is a known issue Blink said - and they have no other solutions to offer. So I brought 3 floodlights - once I had the initial battery issue, I returned one (unused and unopened) within the return window. And I installed the other 2. Now both are dead. And what is absurd is that the title of the product says "two-year battery life" - it says this right in the product title. I expected better from Blink and Amazon.

Great mount! It’s very easy to install and offers excellent flexibility. Being able to quickly adjust the angle of the lights makes a huge difference in eliminating blind spots. Highly recommended!

The mounting brackets were easy to install. The battery life seems way less than what was advertised. There are connection issues with the outdoor cameras due to the backplate of the cameras not allowing the wire to plug in and seat completely into the back of the camera. Even after getting the lights to work, they worked intermittently and then not at all. The app allows you to "manually" turn the lights on and off but there is actually no feedback to confirm that the lights are on or not. It will tell you the light is on when it isn't. Had my original lights replaced by Amazon because IT couldn't troubleshoot the problem online and over the phone. Got new ones and had the same troubles but didn't want to get the ladder out in the winter to pull them down again. Miraculously, they are currently (spring/summer) working about 80% of the time. I wish that all live feed viewing across all Blink products would last longer than 90 seconds or so before asking if you still want to watch and then turning off. This would make adjusting the camera angles much easier.
