Vicky Knows Cats!
For anyone who has a cat who exhibit irritating behaviors that they don't understand, or even for anyone who loves cats, but wants to understand them better. I highly recommend this book!

this is the best book on cat behavior
IMHO, this is the best book on cat behavior, predating even the awesome Jackson Galaxy.

Cats need to get outside- even if only partially!
Cats were NOT meant to be kept indoors, contrary to what Amanda sais, they do not live a happy or filfilled life if indoors all the time no matter how many “stimulating” things you give them. At least get a car veranda in a window (sits outside the window like an air conditioner) or some sort of catio to allow them to be outside without threat of predators, cars or “poisons”. A friend of mine covered the outer portion of the balcony of her apartment with chicken wire so her cats could at least sit on the balcony. An indoor cat is better than a shelter cat, but provide them even a partially outdoor area if at all possible.

Brits love their cats
It seems cats in England live longer (often 20 years or more), not clear why, may be the weather but most likely because their owners understand them better. There is plenty of advise, some of it quite reasonable grounded on understanding of feline psychology. If your cat creates problems for you you will find some useful hints and observations and realize that most of the time you are at fault. Enjoy!

Amazing
Before you buy this stunning book, you have to review exactly where your current relationship with your cat is. I did an extremely foolish thing in that I read excerpts from this book aloud to my cat while she was curled up on my lap. What a mistake!! I now have a 15 year old gorgeous baby who owns my house and my life. What a shame she doesn't pay the mortgage!!There is a saying: "The Egypyians worshipped cats as Gods. Cats have never let us forget this". Believe me, it's true. All cat owners (borrowers) should own this book. It's funny, sad, insightful, educational, and an amazing glimpse into the mind of one of the most stunning creatures on this planet. After reading this, you will never look at your cat in the same way again. Outstanding stuff from a great writer.

Tears and laughter
A thoroughly enjoyable and educational read. Hall tells us about each of her cats in turn using their stories to illustrate the case histories and catty advice that she offers on subjects such as aggression, toilet problems and euthanasia. Some of the stories had me laughing out loud, others moved me to tears. There were a few things I disagreed with - I think cats *are* social animals although some prefer their own company while Hall sees the majority being in the latter catagory - but this was an illuminating look at the world of the animal behaviourist told with humour and sensitivity.

Great read for cat owners
I was recommended this book by my landlady, as I was adopting a kitten that she had fostered. It was a terrific read! Many people apparently misunderstand their cats' wants and needs, and this book explains a lot of these issues. It will be particularly useful for those who are experiencing behavioural issues with their cats - several scenarios are explained along with solutions that worked. Ms Halls writes with compassion and levity, this is a fun read even if you are not having any cat problems!
