My 7year old is very thin and the velcro band that attaches this lighted cape just fit around her small neck I believe you could add fabric and extend this band, something to be mindful of. The quality is ok but I can see that any amount of stress on the material and lights will be the end of it lighting up.This child is mild mannered and I believe it will only last a short time. She was thrilled with it and that's what counts. I don't think that it is the fault of the manufacturer just the nature of the sheer fabric and wires ,lights, battery pack and extendable wands along edge seams is hard to make durable and still have the ethereal effect.

Beautiful and fun to wear. We used it for a daytime fairy festival and it looked whimsical. Can't wait to do it at night. Perfect for an illuminated night time pride parade!

We loved the wings. The iridescent material was a nice touch. We forgot about the batteries. if they were included, it would have been perfect for 5 stars

The most disappointing Halloween costume ever!! My daughter wanted the wings for her costume this year, but didn't know how to incorporate them. I suggested a butterfly, and she loved the idea. The "wings" take 3 AA batteries. I put brand new batteries in them when they arrived at our house, so my daughter could try them on and see how ot fit and how the lights work. Everything seemed fine. She only wore them for a minute or 2 because we didn't want them to break or get messed up before she wore them as a part of her Halloween costume. Last night we went trick-or-treating, so we put on her wings and turned them on. The lights all lit up, 15 seconds later the lights went really dim, and 10 seconds later there were no lights. I thought the batteries may just be loose, so I opened the back and pushed everything in place. That wasn't the issue. The lights just didn't work. It sucked so bad for my oldest daughter. My youngest was a fairy and she had wings that not only lit up, but they moved in and out, and she looked like she could fly away. EVERYONE was complimenting my little one on her wings. EVERYONE loved them. I felt so so bad for my oldest, who had wings on, but no one even noticed. Even though she had antennas on, I don't think anyone understood she was a butterfly. I wish I had let my daughter wear the wings for longer when she tried them on. I could have figured this out 2 weeks before Halloween instead of on Halloween night. Most definitely returning these, but this company will never be able to pay me back. They can return the money I paid for these wings, but they can never give me back the Halloween night with my daughter, who had to hear how much everyone loved her sister's costume all night long, and her having to wear a costume that no one understood because her wings didn't even work. Funny thing is the only reason her sister was a fairy was because i knew her baby sister would be jealous after she saw how beautiful my oldest's wings were. These wings were too big and awkward for her size, so I bought her a pair that lit up and moved. I'm so upset over it. I should have bought them both the other pair of wings, but she loved the way they looked in the picture on Amazon, and she could not be convinced to switch. She's 10 years old, which means I don't have a lot of holidays like this left with her. I really wish these stupid wings hadn't screwed this one up for us.

Saw a child at a festival with this and promptly ordered 2 for my grands. They love them.

Weird on the neck but it's adjustable. No complaints yet. I'm a picky costume person. This is a good buy.
