I really like this sunshade but with some caveats
As the title says, I really like this sunshade but with some caveats. Living in Texas, its hot and sunny, so anything you can do to keep your car cooler is a must. My old sunshade was the accordion style and worked well for years but the sun breaks it down over time and needed to be replaced. So, I gave this a shot. This definitely helps keep the inside cooler.I really like the umbrella style. It is super easy to put up and down. Plus, it folds into a very compact size. I don't usually put it back into the holder because that is a bit difficult. I'll probably only do that during the cooler months when I am not using it very frequently. Now the caveats, the big one is this sunshade seems a bit on the fragile side. Luckily it only takes a few seconds more to be gentle with it but I don't see it lasting long if you aren't. This is for opening and closing, especially the closing. Pretty much every time I have gone to close it, one of the little spokes doesn't immediately retract like it should. If I wasn't careful and just yanked it closed, I'm pretty sure it would have broken by now. Opening it actually seems safer, but you do need to make sure it locks in the fully open position. A couple times I started to put it in my windshield, and it started to collapse on my since I didn't have it locked. So, while I really like the design and operation, I just wish it gave me more confidence in its longevity. The other thing is a little more of my fault. I have a small SUV so when I ordered this, I chose the medium based on the measurements shown in the figure. The measurements are technically close but not in actual use. The picture says the medium is 25.6 inches high and I measured it closer to 24. And I measured the width to be right around 49 inches which is close to the 49.2 in the picture. But that was measured at its widest point laying on my floor which if you look in my picture is kind of like a bats wing in shape so most of the sunshade is much narrower. Plus, even at the 49 location, that is unsupported so just flaps. What that all translates to is that is way too small for my windshield which you can see in my picture with gaps of several inches especially along the sides. I should have ordered the large but using their measurements I thought that would be too big and the medium would fit better. So, I would say if you have a small car then the medium would probably work but anything else should go with the large. As I started, I really do like this sunshade and am glad I have it. But I will keep my eye out for another one that is a little bigger and hopefully a little more robust in its construction. In the meantime though, this works well with care and definitely does have a noticeable impact on my vehicle's temperature.

Very hard to use .
Personally , I did not like this umbrella style sun shade . I have a Ford Explorer and have plenty of cabin room . I still had a very hard time opening this inside the truck. Did not fit well even though I measured the windshield . Eventually I wound up breaking it while trying to get it in the window . I guess it was designed to be compact, witch it is ! However I had found it impossible to use . Maybe I need more patience, but I did not like this product . Giving only 2 STARS !!

Works better than anything else I’ve tried!
I have a Honda Odyssey. Its windshield is so deep and large that it’s been really difficult to put a sunshade in it. However, the car gets soooo hot with the sun beating in and the air conditioner just cannot cool it down fast enough. So I have been looking for an easy to use sunshade that fits the giant windshield. I had pretty much given up and it is just too time consuming and annoying to use the ones I already had. So, my kids and I just end up suffering, and believe me, I hear about it! I tied this umbrella-like sunshade, and it was amazing! It was pretty easy to open up and put into the windshield, and it kept the car sooooooo much cooler when I parked it in the sun for 6 hours! It doesn’t fully fit into the corners of the windshield, but it is so much better than anything else I’ve tried, that I love it anyway! It also folds up as small as a travel umbrella instead of flopping all over the car not fitting anywhere. So far, I am really happy!

Folds up like a umbrella
I had for several months now works great keeping the sun off the interior of the car. I do worry that I will break the shade every time I close it, but it surprisingly hasn’t. When it does break I will order another. I like how it folds up and fits under the seat out the way until needed.

Sun shade umbrella
This is a good windshield sun shade umbrella. It's more portable than the traditional folding sun shades. This effectively blocks sun, keeps the car cool. It's easy to store, open & close, and it fits windshields well. This a great windshield sun shade.

It does help keep the vehicle cooler
This umbrella style sun shade, opens up like your standard umbrella. I drive a Suburban and it doesn’t quite cover the entire windshield, but it covers well enough to keep the inside black interior cooler. The first time, using I was afraid I was going to break it, when I was trying to open it. Perhaps it was jammed?!? Not sure, but eventually I did finally get it to open up, and haven’t had any issues with it since then. There are no instructions included, but not sure you really need any though. All in all, it does help keep the temp down in the vehicle and protects the dash from excessive sun exposure.

This is a bad sunshade. Buyers beware.
This umbrella-style sunshade is simply not good. I gave it an earnest try, but it's honestly one of the worst items I've ever seen. It's a cheaply made gimmick that really doesn't work well. It's difficult to open inside a car or truck and it doesn't want to hold it's fully expanded shape. The stick/handle just dangles in the air unless you're lucky enough to have something to brace it against in your vehicle. I felt like an absolute moron fiddling with this thing for 15 minutes before going into work, and I'm sure I looked silly, too. This would not fully cover the windshield and stay in place. As soon as I'd ease the stick down, one of the umbrella arms somewhere would start folding up. I'd press it into the windshield, opening it all the way, and then another arm would scrunch up somewhere else, or the part that goes around the rear view mirror would fall. Just terrible. Yes, I used the sun visors to pin it to the top. The material also feels very thin. Big surprise, it was the worst at keeping the temperature low in my car of any sunshade I've ever had, and it's not even close. I hate to leave such a low review, but this is junk that shouldn't be sold to anyone. If you value your money and you want a sunshade that'll actually work, then stay far away from this.
