So far so good , took my provider 5 hours to get online though. I still have to call to get the name and password changed. UPDATE: This is working out great…… have both my 2.4 things in my home hooked up great. The 5 g on the other things. Once you get it online it’s great!!!!👍😊

Good Decision - Happy with Modem
It's been almost 9 days since I replace my clunky, big, hot Spectrum Internet modem with this Arris modem. My Internet connection has not dropped once since I connected it up. With the Spectrum modem it was dropping almost every day (which if you work from home is a real pain). Setup was super easy. Moved the 2 cables from my Spectrum modem to the Arris, called the cable company and asked them to activate the modem. Took less than 10 minutes for the whole thing. NOTE: 1. Change the password on the modem as soon as you set it up. Very important! 2. If you have another device at home that provides wireless connectivity, like I do, disable the wireless connectivity on the modem - you don't need it - and it protects you from drive by wireless hackers (they are out there). You will see the 2 wireless lights on the front of the modem go out. So far, very happy with this purchase. I will return my Spectrum modem, and most likely my Spectrum cable box too. Spectrum is constantly raising prices - it never ends - and I rarely watch cable TV anymore - it's all crap. I have transitioned to steaming TV, and no longer need the cable company for TV.

Purchased used like new. Said box was damaged but it was alread activated under another account.
Purchased "used like new." Said box was damaged but it was already activated under another account. I always but warehouse deals since they are usually new items with messed up packaging. Not this time. The modem could not activate. Why? It was previously used on another account. Since logs show that it was only powered up for ten hours max they were able to clear the previous user and password and make the modem usable. It works FANTASTICALLY!!! Speeds were previously hovered around 20-40Mbps and would drop constantly (5 year old modem), bot it is rock solid and fast. 140Mbps average. Still not happy that it was not listed as previously used instead of "damaged box." I the end it was a good item for a good price for a little headache.

no problems
Easy enough to setup if you are familiar with tech...it auto connected to Xfinity and worked. I used both the web interface and app; both seem required. Be aware there are some weird things, for instance it auto-changed my password to some random one and I found it only through the app, where I reset it (again and its held). Been going strong for 4 days now, maybe took 20 minutes to setup. I never had to reset it to factory or call anybody's tech support, so that's a good thing as far as it's setup, too. It does not have a remote/WAN access entry !

Worth the buy!
Just received this item today! I purchased this item and the Meshforce. As of today, I can say it is a great purchase! I read the reviews and was hesitant but I knew I had to cut the cords to my internet provider. I got rid of my cable box and was given a great price for complete internet. I contacted the cable company to set up, increase gigs, and was hit with the "yes, that is the price with your own equipment." Mind you, I was never told that when I call to discuss options. Anywho... With constant internet loss connectivity, I was at my wits end. I increase to 200gigs and had a eero placed in the home. Once I received my box and my mesh, I call them folks and was like increase my gigs to 500 and send me some boxes for your equipment. "Oh ma'am will send you that prepaid return box for the modem/router." No sir send me two boxes for your modem and your eero! And I put them on notice as well. If this service is not on point I will go to ATT for my service and I will get a free $100 credit card as well. Play with me. Right now everything is working smoothly!!! But today is just day 1. This item connected smoothly with my internet providers system. My issue was with the app. Heads up, you cannot change the log in information for the app. I didn't have to contact customer service, so I couldn't rate it.

Do NOT buy this if you play online games
I purchased this to keep from having to pay rental fees on equipment. I bought this in August of 2021. It was easy to install and get up and running with Spectrum. Signal and speeds were great. Fast forward to a month ago and suddenly I started getting random disconnects from Guild Wars 2. It was happening at terrible times and wasting a lot of my time. I initially thought it was the game servers and other people had hit different bugs so I contacted their support. At the same time, I decided to research the router and Spectrum and discovered there's a faulty chipset, Intel's Puma 6&7, in these products that causes this exact problem. I'm not technical enough to know how to explain it but the effect is every 10-15 minutes, my whole internet connection would drop for 10-30 seconds and then go back to being fine. Normal use and streaming services have buffers so you wouldn't normally notice the issue but when you have to maintain connection to a game server, it causes incredibly frustrating issues. I got a modem and router from Spectrum and miraculously, my connection is rock solid again. I'm contacting Arris to try and get a refund and will update this review with their response.

Perfect Replacement
Perfect choice to replace my Xfinity modem router. I got tired of paying monthly rental when replacing with my own is so easy. Caught this one on an Amazon deal so I can recover the replacement's cost in 5 or 6 months.

Happy with my choice to buy
I bought the model suggested by my internet provider. It is a worthwhile purchase if you know you’ll be in the same place with the same provider for a while. I paid enough in router box rental fees to buy two of these. Just don’t throw out the little quick start paper: it has the password you need to use the box!
