Spirited Away: Live on Stage [Blu-ray]

My kids love this anime so when they saw there was a live action stage show they were almost as excited as me. Spirited Away is my all time favorite animated movie. When we started watching i went to change the language to English and found out it is not dubbed. I was worried the kids wouldn't watch it. To my surprise my 2 and 7 yo watch this a lot in japanese most of the time with subtitles. Its a great show and fun to see it live in stage. No English audio but I enjoy the Japanese language.

I love spirited away and this was delivered in a spectacular way!

I like this DVD a lot, though it is closed captioned rather than dubbed. There is two versions done with two different lead actresses. Both were good and well acted.

Absolutely breathtaking

Being a U.S. resident, I did not get a chance to see Spirited Away Live on stage, but I did go to a local theater to see it and couldn't wait for this release. The nice thing about the release is that it comes with 2 DVDs, with a recording of each cast. If you are like me, and didn't know this about Japanese theater, they have 2 completely different casts for most shows, and you get to see how different performers interpret their characters. If you are a Miyazaki fan, this is a must-own item. The staging of this show is absolutely brilliant and the scenes and music match the movie I would say 99%.

If you like the original Spirited AWAY, you'll love this! Wish I could've seen it in person even though I wouldn't understand the language. The stage blew my mind with the mechanics of how it moved and changed to fit the scenes and the acting was truly phenomenal.

I saw the performance with Mone in theaters and afterward, immediately wanted to watch the other one too! I'm a huge fan of Spirited Away, and this live performance was such a feast for the eyes. I couldn't get tickets to see the other performance in theaters, but I found this disc set on ore-order, and I'm so happy I gambled on it. Now I can see the other cast too!The discs are straightforward, with a menu that shows a short compilation of scenes from the show, a chapter selection menu, and options to turn English subtitles on or off. Audio is Japanese only, so if you need English audio, this product is not for you.I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

My hubby and I watched the original Spirited Away in theaters in the 2000s, so we were delighted when we learned about Spirited Away Live on Stage and rushed out to see it in theaters during Ghibli Fest. This Blu-ray set includes two different cast performances and a cute slip cover with No Face on the spine. A true must-have for any Ghibli fan.
