This product does not work
I thought like others that 'surely there is a position where it won't interfere with the sensors. I can figure it out'.Well, please don't waste your time.Firstly, the diagram and photos of the product show a flush finish of the grip around the tow hook. This is simply not true. The hook is too wide for the grip, so much so that I had to buy M6x30 bolts to get it to grip at all.Secondly, there is constant sensor interference with both sensors eother side of the hook. This means that the product is too wide and there is no optimum position. I tried for several days to reposition, drive, repeat. Even installing it upside down (pictured) and other orientations.I really went above and beyond to try to get this to work, even purchasing more parts.

Well built, installing the plate mount backwards can help with sensor conflict.
The product is well built and the bracket fits the tow bar perfectly, but when I installed as intended it conflicted with the parking sensors on either side of the plate, so no amount of adjusting would help. I opted to experiment and install the portion that connects to the license plate backwards, as this would allow the plate to be ~1/4" closer to the bumper. This was apparently was enough to get the plate out of the "line of site" for both sensors, with the only downside being some slight warping of the plate as it bends over the bolts holding the plate mount to the bracket connecting to the tow bar. Not ideal, but totally functional.

Painful to setup with front sensors
Front license plate was detected by the sensors, to the point that the proximity alarm was running non-stop at slow speeds. They do have a note in the box to contact them for help regarding this, but it's a real pain to undo all the screws etc to move the thing a little left or right to try and avoid the sensors. This is a shame since it's quite well made, but I gave up with it and bought the competitors product instead that was much easier to deal with.

Worked for me
An appointment to get the OEM front plate mount fitted was two months after my temporary plate expired and I had heard it's visible on the front camera, so I went for this tow hook mount. I mounted the front plate without a frame and it just took two attempts to get it positioned so it didn't interfere with the sensors.

... did they even try?
tl;dr - this license plate holder doesn't work. The one from "golpew" is the one you wantokay so there were three main issues with this license plate holder:- It's excessively heavy. Not a dealbreaker, but still worth noting- It came missing bolts, and I couldn't get a hold of Klutchtech customer service to get replacement hardware. Again not a dealbreaker, but it would have required me to go to the hardware store and find a suitable replacement bolt, which would have been silver (the included ones were black), and just... really?- The bracket that's supposed to fit around the tow hook was too small, and not by a little bit. It doesn't seem to have been test fit on a Rivian because there's no way anyone looked at this and thought "yeah that's acceptable." Fixing this would have required me to either extensively modify the bracket (it could possibly be filed down to a somewhat acceptable fit although that would take hours of work) or make a new bracket, either by 3d printing one or cnc machining a new one and at that point I might as well just make my own license plate holderIf you like the idea of a tow hook mounted licence plate holder, there's another brand selling here on Amazon called "Golpew" that makes a similar product that addresses all my issues with this one, and is priced about the same. Get that, not this

Pricey but worked
It's admittedly annoying that a car at the price range the Rivian is does not have a way to put a plate on the front without an aftermarket option. That said, the ones being sold are all pricey. This one was the best deal and, with some tweaking, worked. I did what was recommended by other buyers - used it backwards. It still took some tweaking to get it not to set off the sensors on the front. Even so it still occasionally sets it off randomly. That said, its an attractive option that serves its purpose reasonably well. I have no idea why these are so pricey though.

Spent hours trying, still blocks sensor
While the build is good quality, there's no position I can get it into without blocking sensors. Spent over 2 hours trying every position down to 5mm moves.

Sleek and Sturdy License Plate Holder for R1T/R1S
I recently purchased the Klutchtech License Plate Holder for my R1S, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my vehicle. The design is sleek and complements the overall aesthetics of the R1T/R1S.Installation was a just OK– the instructions were clear, and the included hardware made the process hassle-free. However after installing it per the included instructions, I continued to get warning alarms from my front bumper proximity sensors. To solve this issue, I installed the mounting plate opposite of what the instructions detailed. This moves the plate about 1/4” closer to the front bumper and limited the sensor warning issue. The sturdy construction of the holder gives me confidence that my license plate is securely in place, even during highway speeds. What sets this holder apart is its durability and resistance to the elements. The materials used seem robust.Additionally, the minimalistic design doesn’t overshadow the vehicle’s style but rather enhances it. It’s a well-thought-out accessory that serves its purpose without sacrificing the vehicle’s aesthetics.Overall, the Klutchtech License Plate Holder is a high-quality and stylish choice for R1T/R1S owners looking for a reliable and visually pleasing plate holder. Highly recommended!
