This kit is obviously lovingly put together, and makes it easy to make delicious and authentic bubble tea at home! The kit is packaged in a sturdy box, with each item inside carefully wrapped. You receive instructions, a booklet of bubble tea facts, two resealable packs of uncooked tapioca pearls, three resealable packs of loose leaf tea (black, jasmine, and oolong), and 10 single use straws. (One reusable fabric tea bag is also included but I didn't use it as I made two servings of tea at a time.) I was very impressed with the instruction booklet! It breaks down the instructions for making the tea and the pearls, then gives amounts to create one drink. It's very easy to scale up (I've typically made two servings at once) and while the process looks long, it's actually very simple. For the tea, you boil water, briefly simmer the tea leaves, and then steep off the heat and strain. For the pearls, you boil the water, simmer the pearls, steep off the heat, strain, then quickly cook again with a small amount of water and brown sugar. I've found that all the recommended times are perfect for my tastes, but you can steep/cook more or less depending on how strong you like your tea and how chewy you like the pearls. One thing I did wish the instructions mentioned - the pearls are best fresh. It's fine to brew the tea a day or two ahead to let it cool in the fridge, but the pearls get very hard when refrigerated overnight. Definitely prepare them soon before enjoying your tea. The quality of the ingredients is really impressive. The tapioca pearls have a lovely natural sweet, caramel-y scent and flavor and cook up perfectly chewy. I found them to be comparable with the best tapioca I've had from bubble tea shops. The teas are all very natural and brew up strong and flavorful. The oolong is dark and roast-y and the jasmine is clearly real scented tea without added artificial flavors. The instructions recommend using sweetened condensed milk when preparing your bubble tea, and I found that the creaminess and sweetness from that perfectly balanced the strong tea flavors. This is definitely bubble tea for tea lovers, rather than those looking for fruity or juice based drinks. There is plenty of tea to create the promised 10 servings of bubble tea, but I did only get four servings of pearls out of one package. (Though they were BIG servings!) I'd recommend using a little less than the recommended 1/3 cup uncooked pearls per serving if you want to get 10 servings. The only item I didn't love is the straws. They're biodegradable, which is nice, but I found them quite brittle and easily cracked, making them unusable. They also seemed a smidge smaller than some bubble tea straws, making it a little difficult to get larger pearls through. It is true that they don't get soggy like paper straws. But this is a minor complaint compared to how much I loved the rest of the kit! I'd just recommend picking up an inexpensive set of plastic bubble tea straws when you purchase the kit. If you love bubble tea that focuses on the flavor of tea, I would highly recommend this kit. I've found it so fun, easy, and satisfying to make bubble tea myself, and the results are really delicious.

The set is all very nicely packaged in green paper and resealable bags, with bubble wrap to keep everything in place. The instructions on how to make everything are very detailed, and I was able to follow them well. Sadly, it turns out I'm not the biggest fan of things in my drinks, be it pulp or, apparently, tapioca pearls. I liked the flavor of all three teas very much but didn't end up consuming the pearls. They sat in the bottom of my glass for decoration only. Regardless of how you enjoy your bubble tea or if you want to introduce a friend to this for the first time, this is a great set and well worth the price.

This kit makes delicious tea, and fantastic boba. I've only tried the red tea so far, but it tastes exactly like the tea at a boba tea shop! The directions call for sweetened condensed milk, and I had no idea how wonderful that would make the tea taste. The instructions give you a time range for every step in making both the tea and the boba, but also the average time people like. Turns out I like my boba cooked more than average. It'll take experimenting to get everything just right, but that's not a hardship. The straws are my only issue. I have issues with textures, and I tend to chew on straws. The straws almost feel like dry leaves and crack just as easily. Luckily I have my own reusable boba straws, so this didn't cause a real issue. This kit will make so many glasses, and I'll absolutely buy more when I eventually run out.

I really appreciated how well packed this kit was. You can tell that it was put together with a lot of care and additional little touches of love such as the thank you card, appreciation sticker, and even a little pamphlet giving the origin story behind bubble tea drinks with some fun facts. The experience of unboxing the kit alone brought me a lot of joy. Now as for making the drinks, it was a very enjoyable experience for a family night, date night, girls night, you name it! I love bubble tea drinks and have tried my fair share and what I made with this kit was better than anything I've ever bought. Everything was packaged well and was clearly labeled for use. My favorite was the jasmine green tea but you can't go wrong with any of the tea flavors. It has a rich tea flavor - definitely the real deal; nothing artificial here. Resealable bags so it's convenient to store for future use. I am very very happy with this kit and I could totally see this being the perfect gift item for bubble tea lovers!

Despite involving cooking, I consider this bubble tea kit one of the best I've ever tried. While I appreciate the convenience of instant kits, the quality of the pearls has always fallen short of my expectations. However, with this kit, both the pearls and tea are cooked separately, giving me control over the process and resulting in a truly excellent bubble tea. I don't mind the cooking process, especially since the detailed instructions made it easy to follow, and it didn't take too long. The end result was impressive, and my bubble tea tasted like the authentic ones I've enjoyed at some restaurants. Overall, I'm pleased with this kit, especially considering the price (about $3 per serving). The inclusion of bamboo straws in the kit was a fascinating bonus.
