Micro 2/M2-R Retrofittable Short-Stem Orbital Mic Adapter

Wow, this ball mount really locks in place. You don't need to tighten it endlessly, just a little twist of the rubberized knob and the ball feels like it's fused. I honestly don't know how they do this but it feels like no other ball joint I've ever used. I heard about this in a Tom Buck video and decided to give it a go on a whim, and WOW! It was not oversold. I get so many cheap ball joints with differnt mics, lights, and adapters that I get so I have a bunch laying around basically for free. But this kind of makes me want to replace all thhe ones I have holding up any equipment that I really like.

So far this is working great. I used it to replace the swivel on an Atlas stand. This Triad-Orbit works way better in number ways. Locks solid but is easy to adjust, the rotation really helps (I can adjust quickly between standing at the mic or sitting at my desk, which wasn't doable with the swivel). Very pleased if it holds the test of time.

These things are heavy chunks of awesome. The ability to swivel and reposition angle and lock it in with one screw turn is amazing.

For some reason finding a rotating coupler is next to impossible - I have a desktop mic setup using a fixed arm and wanted to be able to swing it easily out of the way. This is the only coupler or adapter I could find that allows for this - it was pricey but it works perfectly.

When the stand and clip won't get you the angle you need, this is perfect. I've used other, cheaper alternatives and none have performed as well as the Triad-Orbit. This locks in place, does not drift, is solid... I'll be buying more.I wish it wasn't so expensive, but the adage is true: you get what you pay for.

These stands and associated components are the finest I've ever used. With seemingly endless setup possibilities, I am always impressed when I step away from this piece of gear following a performance. Adjustments are fast, and stay where you want them to once you find the sweet spot, allowing the user to focus on performance instead of drifting mic stands and awkward mid-performance adjustments. The Micro 2-R is really the icing on the cake for the Triad Orbit system. Once you get the mic stand position close, this component makes the rest of the process a breeze. Adjustments are so fast and easy. These are certainly more of a premium purchase, but if you're someone under the lights that everyone is watching, this add-on is worth it.

I have been a longtime user of Triad-Orbit gear...it's a great company with very innovative musical accessories. They have great Retro-fit adapters that allow you to use their innovative items with other manufacturers gear. They are also heavy-duty and durable products.

Adds so much versatility in positioning my microphones in the vocal booth!
