Graet initially, but doesn’t work anymore
Great piece... looked well, worked well. But now, after not using for several months, doesn’t work anymore, no ignition, no spark.

Threading was junk
So I got this torch Ed and thinking okay it's the Cortez and go to screw down in my bottle my propane bottle and it I can tell the threads were screwed up and no matter how I worked it try to work it and just couldn't really get it to go on there properly and like an idiot I kind of forced it and it screwed up my bottle and next thing you know I had to full propane leaking out luckily I was in a place where I was able to just get it outside quickly and let it empty its contents and press the neighbors didn't call but I mean I was kind of on me though so I can't really blame the product too much there but the fact that it came with screwed up threading like that but other than that I mean it seemed to it did work fine is this when I went to go pull it off is when I needed that screwed up my canister

Solid, basic pencil flame torch head
The media could not be loaded. CONCLUSION: 100% recommended buy. This is like the old school type propane torch head I first used back in 1972 and it works better because it can also handle Mappro gas. I also strongly recommend getting a hose that will connect between the tank and the torch head. I have one and it makes this torch head, which is already pretty compact, wonderfully light and easy to maneuver, getting into tight spaces where a tank would block movement or the line of sight as well as being unwieldly and tiresome to handle.FEATURES; Comes in a cardboard box protected in a fitted piece of foam. Unless you are going to store it like it comes to you, be sure to make a protective covering for the tip and the base so that tiny bits of dust and dirt don't clog the orifices or interfere with the threads. Simple design: thread it onto a tank and open the valve to release enough gas to ignite using a sparker. (It is very unsafe using lighters and matches that put your hand too close to the torch tip.) The flame adjusts using the valve knob. Flame stays lit until you close the valve. No attachments or ability to change the tip from a fine point to a larger flame, solder point, flame spreader for paint removal, etc. This is as basic as it gets.TESTING: I only tested for ignition and flame quality and adjustment. The torch head threaded onto the tank smoothly. The torch ignited very easily with the sparker. The valve stem is very solid and stable in the torch body and turns very smoothly. It adjusts the flame in fine increments using only a very small rotation of the valve to control the size. It does adjust from a very small flame to a much larger flame while maintaining a perfect pencil shape of the blue flame.

I wouldn't use this for real welding.
This is a decent product, and excellent for the home gourmand with an eye for the dramatic, but not as much for the welding man. There's no thermal insulation to keep your hand from getting burnt if you touch the metal, and the entire nozzle is made of metal, including the knob to adjust gas flow. It's a very very thin jet, so perhaps small, precise brazing is possible, but the fact it's made from brass also limits the temps you can work with, so certain metals are out of the question as well. However, it's great for getting a good sear on your sous vide steaks, or browning/charring the surface of your veggies, or other foods. It is good for several art-related tasks too, such as "aging" paper, or scorching, "relic-ing" custom-made goods, etc.Just get yourself a decent welding setup if you plan on doing anything that your safety requires.
