The focus of this book is the connection between the Gut and the overall health of the body.The book is researched and very well written. The quote that all diseases begin in the gut and the benefits of a healthy gut, I found to be very interesting. Things such as stress reduction, better cognition, mood, and my favorite; better sleep, should be enough of an incentive for a person to want to change the way they eat.The author included a meal plan which is very helpfulI will be starting my new journey to health after reading this book!

Smooth, easy & informative read
This book is very informative and rich with recent findings that I have not known about the gut-brain relationship. It is a very smooth and easy language that did not distract me from the main thesis while reading the book. I highly recommend this quick and smooth read.

Interesting.
What I assumed would be a boring read was, in fact, interesting from start to finish. Full of good and understandable info on the connection between the health of the gut and the health of the whole body. Highly recommend.

Gut/brain Connection should be taught in schools!
This was full of information on the gut/brain connection and as such was a great resource. I don't care if the 'author' is credentialed or not, there were footnotes, so to speak, that referenced info. What I didn't like was the strict adherence to medical views that are lately coming to light that are not correct, stemming from corrupt medical practices by the medical-industrial complex that only makes money when the 'customer' is sick. More could be done by the individual to keep themselves healthy if they included some of the advice in this book.

Some great advice on gut health and how it affects for body and mind. I liked the links between gut health and certain diseases and the recipes at the back. A useful and informative guide for any adult.

Very good book. Fascinating information about the gut and the microbiome, and its effects on physical and emotional health. It gives a lot of ideas on how to improve your microbiome.

There's No Secrets Unveiled in this Book
Ten or fifteen years ago, this book would have been seen as an earth-shattering trove of information and insights. However, today it's simply a compendium of facts and research findings already known to anyone who has even superficially delved into nutrition. It's a positive that the book has a comprehensive bibliography and that most statements are referenced to research. However, rather than the author speak to reader, the book reads like a research paper. Furthermore, the author remains anonymous and we never find out his/her educational and professional background, or what inspired the book.The book's advice: take prebiotics, probiotics, and fish oils; consume a plant-based diet; eat fermented foods and beans; exercise; avoid stress; get enough sleep; and avoid soft drinks. It's all good advice, but nothing original.Yawn!
