I saw this wrapping paper in a hipster boutique in Brooklyn, but I couldn't remember the name when I got home and wasn't able to find it online. I love this sturdy stuff, this matte kraft paper stock. It's slightly ribbed, like the brown packing paper you can get at the Post Office, but it's totally black! Not dark black, but a nice soft black. I used it to wrap a gift for my brother's birthday and the end result was smart and grown-up looking! It's simple, nothing super-fancy, but I can imagine using it again for several occasions. It's a relief because I often get caught needing to wrap a gift and then realizing I only have wrapping paper with Christmas trees on it left over from the holidays. It's nice to buy wrapping paper that doesn't have holiday specific designs on it, or twee teddy bears or fluffy bunnies or something like that. I plan on keeping a roll of this around for such occasions. At last a wrapping paper as dark as my soul!

This is nice paper. I liked the duality of it. The black is a bit muted, but not so much that it’s gray. I bought it for Christmas presents. It cut well, wrapped well, and looks nice. I do think it’s a bit pricey. I probably wrapped less than 10 small to medium gifts with it. I am not sure I would buy again because of the price.

Excellent, sturdy paper without excess rigidity, which can lead to clumsy cutting and unintentional formation of diagonal lines. I love the subtle striping carefully entwined in the overall design (it lends versatility to the usual solid black while allowing for precise cutting and line definition without having to resort to use of a ruler). I love it when artistic touches serve utilitarian function carefully layered within overall design. This was most definitely created with artists in mind, yet versatile enough to serve equally well as both craft- or wrapping paper. Will definitely buy again and recommend for friends.

Its more chocolate brown not black its okay not worth the price.

The paper has a dull color and looks more like a dark espresso than black, and is pretty flimsy. Also I got half way through the roll and found it had large holes and tears hidden in the center.

Gorgeous, sturdy paper! I've used this for everything from a hostess gift to birthday to even Christmas! I love the double sided kraft and the subtle tonal stripe. Will definitely buy more..

This is a heavy, quality paper that is delightful to work with when wrapping gifts. Most of it was used as a runner for a long table and decorated with "chalk" markers for a holiday dinner, and it withstood a dozen place settings without tears. The paper has dense fiber composition and high-quality ink, and the depth of color -- even hues this dark -- gives it a warm, though not shiny, sheen. The chalk markers took to the surface without smears. I'm subtracting one star solely for the high price, though I'll probably be a repeat buyer. You don't run into paper like this everywhere.
