A Busy Day for Birds

My daughter absolutely loves this book, so much so we've been through about 3 copies!I purchased it originally because I saw a light-hearted blog post from a mum who was losing her mind as she'd read it so many times to her child and it piqued my interest as to why it was so popular in their house.It is a fun, easy to follow story, or rather a rhyme, with bold, colourful pictures of lots of different birds. I totally understand why little ones like it.I have since memorized it and now recommend it (inflict it) on everyone I know with a small person.After seeing how much my daughter enjoyed it, it made me look into other stories by the same author, too. Hooray For Fish is another firm favourite!

I had originally been given this book 6 years ago as a freebie from a local library. This has been enjoyed by my now six-year-old and now my two-year-old. It is my two year-old‘s favourite book, which has meant I have needed a second copy due to it being well used!! A little surprised to see the words had changed at the end but it’s still a great book which I know by heart now anyway! Your little ones will love acting out the different actions!

My baby really enjoys Lucy Cousins books - she loves the rhymes, the illustrations, and generally gets super excited whenever I read a Lucy Cousins book to her. A Busy Day for Birds is really fun!

I'm a childminder and already had this book in the paperback version it was so well used that I bought it in hardback. The kids love to join in and pretend to do what the birds are doing in the story. We've even taken it to play groups and read it to the children there too and they all love it.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this.We were given this book for free at our local children center and it is my eldest favourite. I ordered this for a book loving mum and child for Christmas as it’s such a great book. I was so pleased with the size and quality of the book when it arrived as it is a lot bigger than my paper version. However upon reading it, I realised they have changed the wording from ‘wiggle your feathers’ to ‘wiggle your bum’ and then rather than it saying ‘cuddle together’ it says ‘cuddle mum’.It’s probably not a problem for anybody new to reading this book as everything else is the same but I wouldn’t be able to read this version as it wouldnt sound right. A bit disappointing and I will be apologising to my mummy friend for the change.Wish you had kept it the same as it was before!

My little girl had a small paperback version of this book that was looking a little worse for wear. I bought her this and was very surprised at the size. It's larger than normal sized boardbooks, it's a colourful book with a catchy story/ rhyme that little ones love.

My daughter and my Nephew absolutely love this book (both recently turned 2) perfect book for little ones where they are able to join in and do the actions for each page. My daughter will literally sit and read the whole book to me she knows it so well now.

A beautifully illustrated book that is bright and cheerful, even my toddler loves to choose this book from the shelf to look through independently. Just enough words on each page to keep the youngest of readers interested. A lovely book I would highly recommend.

Es de tapa dura y las páginas también lo son, por lo que es perfecto para que un niño pequeño lo coja y vaya pasando páginas.Idioma inglés, pero no viene demasiado texto y es fácil de leer.

Buy the board book version. This will be a good read for babies. Engaging book

“A Busy Day for Birds” in paper back is the same story as hard back book called “Hooray for Birds”. I thought I was getting two different stories about birds. Same story/different titles. I’ll have to return one.
