Flat pedals to put on top of your clipless ones.
I have a commuting bike with clipless Shimano SPD pedals that I use everyday. However, sometimes I just want to take it for a spin with the kids, or ride it a mile to the gym. The distance is to short to wear the proper cycling shoes and take a change of shoes with me, but pedals take 5 mins to swap over and need regreased so it's not worth swapping out the pedals. The answer, these Fly Pedals. The pedals come with no cleats so you need to buy the right set for you clipless pedals, but then they simply clip in on top and you're away. To remove just twist as you would normally. It's a little bit of effort to get them on and off, but nothing major, just a bit uncomfortable given the grip surface of the pedals. Overall the pedals are wide and with a good surface. They've got a version 2 coming out what allows footstraps as well, but these did the job for me. The only problem is that the weight of the fly pedals means that (like the ones with the old toeclips) the pedals hang upside down, so you need to be adept at flipping the pedal over with your toe before placing your foot on it. Annoying but fine with a bit of practice and not much that the manufacturers could do about that! Basic physics really! Overall a nice little product to make your bike a bit more comfortable for those random casual journeys.

Good but could be better
These are good for if you have a turbo and your wife or kids or mates want a go on it, you leave your clipless pedals on and fit these to the top (you need to buy another set of clips - obviously) and attach to the platform adapters and this makes them a flat pedal with the need to remove your clipless pedals each time someone else wants a go on the turbo.I have three gripes1. The platforms come to rest upside down, so it's a bit fidly to get your feet on them2. The grip could be better - I have watched a couple of times people slipping off them3. They are difficult to remove, I use a spanner that just fits in the rectangular hole at the rear of the platform but it's still tricky - Would be better if they came with a tool for removing them

Great concept...poor execution
First off let me say that as a concept I loved the pedals and what they could do for someone like me who commutes around London and doesn't want to carry 2 pairs of shoes in his bag if I want to go to the gym after work....I should add that I have size 13 feet so two pairs of shoes are a nightmare in my backpack (which is a fairly sizeable 5.11 24hr bag) so I thought I could use these and just wear my work shoes when I'm on my commute the practice I work in which is about a 10min ride...Truth is that the design leaves the pedals difficult to flip over from their resting state which is flat top down...I've scuffed the front of my shoes trying to find a casual way of using them whilst negotiating the traffic. To be clear once I've snurgled them round so I'm stomping on the pedal surface, they're great but getting them there to use them is annoying :)

These pedals, despite trying to be as light as ...
These pedals, despite trying to be as light as possible through their aluminium construction, are still far too heavy and so rest upside down. This makes getting a footing on them as you set off without fussing about particularly difficult. Would rather walk in cleats than use these, so back they go.
