Almost perfect!
I used these to create those flowers decorations (seen on Etsy) for my roller skate laces. They are exactly what I wanted! The tools did just what I wanted and I have more than enough grommets to last for many projects! One note for the grommet punch though, if it seems like it is not working (or seems dull), it may due to the surface your are hitting your grommet punch on.I first tried it on wood. This worked poorly for me (the grommet punch was just shredding the thread on my patch instead of cutting through it) and badly damaged the wood I was hitting on.I then tried using the punch on concrete (in a garage). This worked perfectly (I was able to get very clean hole punches through my patches), but I was chipping and damaging the concrete as a result.I finally tried using the punch on a mini anvil. This worked perfectly just like on concrete, but I was leaving scratch marks and dents as a result.I'm not sure if I was being too heavy handed with the hammer, but I couldn't seem to get the punch to work without damaging the surface I was hitting on.As for the grommet tool itself (that installs the two parts of the grommet together), this worked perfectly. I was able to use it on all three surfaces with no damage.

Good Value
I use these grommets for the purses that I make from hard-covered books. I tried drilling holes in the end of the books and installing these, but the shaft is too short so I had to glue them on. I now install them on the sides, where I use strong fabric, and they work fine.

Serviceable grommets held back by poor quality tooling and bad instructions
I bought this to put grommets in some duck cloth, and I was able to punch about 50 grommets, all of which got a decent hold (although some of the fabric around the grommets did still fray). However, I did have to re-sharpen the fabric punch, which was poorly machined and not sharp enough to do the job. Meanwhile, the divot on the side of the fabric punch that's used to allow you to collect the punched-out fabric circles was extremely sharp (it actually cut my finger). So, the fabric punch is sharp in places where it should be dull, and dull in places where it should be sharp. Be careful, and be ready to so some filing to get this thing where it's usable. Also, the instructions are written in poor English. Most of the use of the product is pretty straightforward, so it's not a huge problem. However, it can still cause issues. As one example, it's not entirely clear how the gaskets should be placed. It says that they should "match the grommet," but that could mean two things. It could mean that, like the grommet, the round side of it is facing outwards. It could also mean that the curves of the gasket should match the curves of the grommet. From what I could tell, the second option is correct, but the instructions don't really make that very clear. If you need a grommet kit and you don't want to pay a whole lot of money, this will get the job done. However, you may find your project delayed by the need to fix the low quality tools provided in this kit.

Great value, instructions not helpful
Package was smaller than I was expecting, but the box was chock full o'grommets. When I tried to punch a hole in a sheet (like a bed sheet- I'm going to hang it in the wall instead of painting) and it couldnt even gouge the cloth. Dented maybe, but it was back to normal when I smoothed it... not even a year.Sending back and will get 1. A larger size, and 2. A better punch.REVISION: I think this is more about terrible instructions. When using the punch tool, you must place the punch ONTO the round tool, with the material you are putting a hole into BETWEEN the punch tool and the round tool. Now that I've figured it out, I'll be keeping the set.PLEASE work on your instructions!!

Requires additional product & some prior knowledge of grommeting.
Product does just what I needed it to do, with the exception of the punch, it is not sharp enough to cut light weight cotton. Thankfully I had a punch from something else and was able to use that. But for those without this would be extremely frustrating,Also reading the instructions, I feel this is not a good choice for a first time โGrommeterโ.This this purchase would have been a package of frustration, if I didnโt have prior experience and the cutting tool already. But the grommets worked wonderfully on my project.

Average Grommet Kit
I've installed about 30 of these and have had two of the grommets crack, I think they'll hold but it's definitely not aesthetically ideal. Obviously the metal isn't very sturdy, and this is especially evident on the backings which are super thin and not evenly punched to shape. I'm concerned that with wear and tear on the garment they're applied to that the fabric may rip along this thin metal. The punch provided to create holes doesn't work well at all, I used a different punch tool to make holes after getting frustrated with it not working. But the tools for hammering the grommet closed do the job effectively. All that being said, for the price and quantity you get with the kit, the quality isn't awful. Would consider getting again for future projects.

Not that easy !
I have the 1/4" size grommet set. The curtains I'm using have 4 layers of fabric in the header. Two layers of the header are the thickness of regular fabric and the other 2 are thick, sun blocking cloth. It was very difficult to install the grommets. I fear they will fall out . I think that a larger grommet would have been better. The problem of installing these grommets comes from my inexperience, but the instructions for installation were basically un-understandable.!!!

Strong grommets, easy to use
Purchased these for adding holes to tarpaulin so that I could tie it to the neighbours side of our fence trellis. I have resprayed my side and didnโt want to shower my neighbours with the black treatment I used!Worked very well for this purpose. You simply put one of each shape on each side of the material, and hit the tool with a hammer with the hard metal piece underneath and the grommet simply opens and grips the material to create a metal hole. Very simple to use.Have loads left but Iโm sure they will get used! They come in sturdy storage box so will be well protected on the shelf!Good product. Happy to recommend.

A good eyelet system in a compact pack
I wanted to place eyelets in some sheet material so that I could lace two edges together. This small pack contained everything I needed and was very effective. My only problem was that due, presumably to poor postal handling, the latch on the plastic box was broken, meaning that I was not able to close the box securely.

These pull out very quickly
Easy enough to use. I bought them for a leather belt. They do unfortunately pull out very easily probably because of the sideways pull on them when the belt is done up tightly.
