Perfect for what we wanted, to keep the cat away from the fire! Easy to construct, only took 10 minutes if that. Not overly sturdy but doesn't need to be. We haven't attached it to the rear wall as we like to move it out of the way for cleaning. As we have a double door multifuel burner, although we can open the doors enough to put fuel on, the guard prevents the doors opening wide. This is not an issue for us, everything works brilliantly and it looks very nice too. There is a removable trapdoor at the top of the guard for if you have a top chimney pipe. Great value for money.

A little flimsy but can look past it as it keeps my from getting to close. It definitely does its job

Lots been written about flimsy, no instructions, quality etc.This is what found.Very easy to assemble.A couple of linking elements needed a little bending with pliers to line up holes. But essentially all good.It is light-weight, but perfectly adequate for keeping new cats off the wood burner and not visually too intrusive.I used a little added wire as additional connectors, that helped.Very pleased.

Great price, easy to assemble, perfect size for our Dik Geurts Ivar 5 High woodburner. Our daughter is 4 and we want her to be able to play freely in the lounge without the risk of a serious burn. This guard provides peace of mind, it’s sturdy, pretty discreet and of an evening, we can just leave the doors of the guard open and enjoy an uninterrupted view of the flames. We intend to dismantle and store flat over the warmer months which should be really straight forward. So happy we chose this fire guard.

Bought this to keep my baby off the fire. it was the only box type fire guard with easy front opening I could find. While the concept is good and it does a great job the quality is not in line with the cost. It is quite flimsy but easy to put together and install

This guard fits snugly around my stove. I bought it mainly to prevent kittens getting burnt and it has done the trick perfectly.

Does the job well and fits the area of my fireplace well. However, I have a clearview stove and you cannot open the door of the stove or take out the ash can whilst it is in situ. If the guard doors were only one mesh deeper, then it would be fine. As it is, I have to remove the or pull out the guard to light and put more fuel on my stove.The instructions for assembly are minimal. You must work out any problem areas yourself.However when in situ and loaded it does the job well.

I was so excited to find this online as I have not been able to use my log burner for 3 years because of kitty. It arrived before expected delivery date, hence one of the stars. Box had been re sealed by delivery company. All ok so far, then came the erecting, which should have been a breeze because all you need to do is to put the top on. The two side to top fittings seemingly come without nuts for the bolts (one side kept dropping down), the front to to fittings are completely inadequate.Though the design was perfect for my needs (hence that is why I did not return it), the manufacture or more accurately the assembly method is at best flaky at worst dangerous. I would not have used it without first making it more stable/robust and that is for a kitty let alone a child. The use of 15 strategically placed plastic cord ties made the guard more rigid, only time will tell whether those will melt. You shouldn't have to do that with a product costing this price. More thought is required to make this product more robust from the offset, because this is spoiling what would be a great product for a in set burner.Additionally the fire guard does get hot enough to burn a little ones fingers, especially towards the top of the guard and the manufactures provided top fittings.
