The Bliss of Inner Fire: Heart Practice of the Six Yogas of Naropa

Good stuff.
Very detailed instruction on the Tummo meditation practice of Vajrayana Buddhism. Best to already have initiation and teaching a from a Vajrayana teacher prior to practicing Tummo, but Lama Yeshe does say in the book that a properly motivated practitioner can also do it some.

A very beautiful book. I feel indebted to the author for having taught me these meditations. At times it felt as if he were right beside me, such were the instructions and the purity from whence they came. I feel as if this author significantly touched my heart, and the last few pages nearly made me cry; amazing book!

Lama Yeshe is amazing
Amazing book about the deep practice of inner fire meditation. This will change your life if you put the wisdom of the book into practice. I love Lama Yeshe as an author, he is gifted in explaining to Westerners these esoteric Tantric concepts and putting them in every day language we can all understand. This wisdom will change your life.

A great introduction for the Western reader
A great introduction for the Western reader, who may be starting to learning about Tantrayana. The book does have tummo practice as the main topic, however with this in mind, the author builds the ground work successively that leads up to tummo practice. This is very typical with Tibetan Buddhism, information is shared gradually in successive stages.Overall, the topics in the book include not only tummo mediation but also discussions on Heruka Chakrasamvara, Tilopa, Naropa, and Tsongkhap just to name a few. Each topic in itself warrant warrants a book on its own. The author explains how all these topics are dependent on gaining a basic understanding of tummo mediation.

Must Have For Kundalini Practitioners
This book is a must-have .. Lama Yeshe presents an incredibly rare inside-view of Kundalini and other esoteric secrets of Yoga that can only be known by his personal hands on experiential wisdom .. If you are having these personal experiences also you're going to want to pick this book up .. Tibetan Buddhism is a 1,000+ year old tradition of mega-masters who know the human psycho-spiritual system through and through .. Lama Yeshe is able to scoop this deep reservoir of knowledge and masterfully plop it down onto the Western plate in a way that doesn't offend their palette, as he knew Westerners through and through .. His English is also obviously very good ..

Obviously much better to study this under a real practitioner
Too much visualization to accurately convey over text. Obviously much better to study this under a real practitioner.

Tummo is a rare jewel
I have completed two retreats practicing Tummo. Lama Yeshe's book is excellent and of first rate quality. What he describes is true and can be experienced by those who wish to work. I do not practice with Lama Yeshe's tradition, but for those who want to understand the depths of Tummo...I totally recommend it. For those who do not wish to do the work of the practice, I'd suggest they not read it. It is a topic that cannot be accomplished by intellect alone. But for those of you who will do the work, then when the Fire blazes and the Kundalini flows...you will know and I know that this man has correctly described the events that unfold.

The most powerful meditation I've ever experienced.
I'm into meditation, and started up the Wim Hof Method many years prior to getting this book. When I first got into WHM, I researched the history of meditation in cold climates, and the use of extreme cold throughout the ages for remedial purposes, and finally came to Tummo meditation.I watched many videos and found it very insightful, but none were as in depth as this book, which goes into detail about the origins, context, spiritual and practical uses of Tummo meditation. It makes Wim Hof seem like what Mcdonald's is to burgers... Easy crowd pleaser, does the job, but not meaty enough, or as in-depth.The book does go into the religious aspects, and includes cultural and religious stories in there, but if you're open minded enough, you'll enjoy the ancient wisdom it all has to offer, in a holistic manner. And if you're not open minded enough, then just reading them as stories, and using the meditation techniques as simple visual cues to keep you focused and not go to sleep, will still help you greatly.I can honestly say, after almost a decade of dedicated meditation, this book and the actual steps included, provided me with one of the most powerful experiences I've ever had in my life. I truly went beyond.
