Unexpectedly, this turned out to be a great lure. I absolutely love top water fishing in Saltwater, and I am often time at the jetty and/or pier. I love the thrill and experience of a big Jack Cravelle or Bluefish coming up and slamming your popper on top.In my experience, the best lure that I can compare this to would be a Mag Popper. The cast-ability is basically the same (I can fling this thing a mile with 40 lbs. Beyond Braid on my Eliminator 5000 and medium heavy Redfish Extreme rod), and while it flies through the air, it maintains a position where the rear of the lure stays pointing towards the direction of the cast.When retrieving, it maintains proper positioning with the rear down and the head up. This is crucial and allows for the lure to properly ‘pop’ as you work it; especially in harsher conditions near beaches and jetties. The hooks are strong. Trust me when I say strong. I had to bend one out (only) slightly, and I warped my $20.00 pliers in doing so.The colors are vibrant, and the green on the lure I received very closely resembles the color of a greenie. The flash on these things is off the charts too. Blues love it so far. It’s put up with a couple of hard sessions against them, and is still going. I still would prefer a Mag Popper over it, but when I step back and evaluate why that is, it’s because I’m just partial to them from years of use. I didn’t intend on catching pompano in Florida, but they really seemed to want this. The hooks are really sharp also. The color is beautiful and reflects well in the water. Fish are instantly attracted.
