Watering Can

I bought this book on the advice of my husband, the poet Simon R. Gladdish, and I'm delighted that I did. Caroline is a poet of prodigal gifts and a wild imagination. She is equally good at sprawling narrative poems as tight rhyming sonnets. She is utterly surreal and often very funny. She said that since winning the Forward prize she has hardly written another poem, which is a great shame. We hope that she recovers her mojo soon as we can't wait for her next volume.

she is cheeky and serious and full of life. A total pleasure and she has awesome skill. I am soooo looking forward to following her career in words.

A thrilling set of poems by a young person who clearly has a special talent. Wit and verbal inventiveness combine to produce an anthology that is definitely out of the ordinary. Longer poems are engaging and do not lag. I heartily commend Caroline's work to anyone who wants to be jolted out of the run of the mill. I give it 5.
