A great and entertaining immersive game
Who does not love a Viking theme:) The artwork is beautiful. The components are of a good quality. I like the metal coins! Packed out on the table it looks inviting! It is easy to setup and to learn. And its a wonderful game to play because its so immersive. Its enjoyable from start to finish and every time you play it. Every game I played was nail biting and every time I brought it to the table the crowd loved it. Works well as as a 2 and as a 4 player game. Don't hesitate, go get a copy and start raiding the North Sea!

Best board game - IMO
Best board game out there in my opinion! Wonderful replay ability and my wife and I have had many hours of enjoyment from this game. Works great with expansions and would recommend anyone to play. Great balance in strategy and a lot of fun!

Great introduction to Worker Placement games
Quick and easy to learn game that uses a popular mechanic in modern board games, worker placement. The basic concept is that each player has workers that on their turn they will place on the board in available locations that then either let the player perform some sort of action or gain some sort of reward. Raiders does this in a very simple and slightly different way than most other games. Each player only has ONE worker. On your turn you will choose to either Work by placing your worker on a valid, available space and performing the action or collecting the appropriate resources and then selecting a different worker on the board and performing the actions or collections for that space or Raid, if you have the proper resources, by placing your worker on one of the available raid spots on the board and carrying out the raid action there and gaining the associated worker, victory points and plunder. The easy thing to remember is that you will always start and end your turn with one worker. There are a few more nuances to the game than that, but this is a really quick game to learn and teach and loads of fun with lots of take that moments in attempts to foil your opponents.

A very satisfying, viking themed, worker-placement game
I showed my wife a video review for this game and I took her, "That looks pretty cool." to mean, "You should totally get on Amazon and buy that game right now!" So I did. It turns out this worker-placement game focused on raiding a neighboring countryside and making offerings to your chieftain is the perfect blend of strategy and luck for us. The rulebook is clearly laid out and nicely illustrated, the components (especially the silver coins) are high quality, and the artwork on the cards is wonderful. I can't recommend this one enough if you like medium-light worker-placement games.

Great art, lots of strategy, and easy to play.
Beautiful art, lots of strategy, easy to play. What else can you ask for in a board game? I had not paid much attention to this whole series of games until Amazon had it on sale for around $30. Read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. Rules are very well written and there are many Watch it Played type videos to look at. We were able to play pretty quickly. For an easy game to learn, decisions were not light at all. Games have been very competitive and scoring is very close. My 11 year old picked it up pretty quickly too. Art is amazing. Really good game.

A fun game, even for senior gamers!
I am a very experienced 75 year old board gamer. My go to game is "Advanced Squad Leader", but I felt my friends and I needed a change of pace. I found "Raiders of the North Sea" on a YouTube video and it looked like fun. It was! We were up and running for our first game and finished in about 75 minutes, with minimal rereading of the rules. A second game was in order. This was our first experience with "worker" games, and it won't be our last.

Easy to learn, fun to play
Game itself is great. But box was damaged when delivered to me. Some knife scratches on it.

Thematic Viking Game
We received this game less than a week ago, and my tweens and I have played several times already. It is thematic in the sense that you're a captain/leader of a Viking ship, who must recruit a crew, lead it on raids and manage its resources. Not all of your crew will make it back home -- some will die in battle and earn their way to Valhalla. The board isn't cluttered, and the artwork reminds you to have some fun. The game also gets kudos for having an appropriately sized box. So much game in a medium sized box. The game moves quickly. If you've enjoy a smattering of worker placement/action selection, engine building and resource management, this may be a good game for you.

This is a great competitive strategy game with more than a few interesting features. Firstly, the artwork is excellent! The game board setup is clear and visually appealing, and the game took much less time to learn than other games of comparable complexity. It’s worker/placement except you leave your worker at an action and pick a different one up. Once you’ve built up a crew, you can go raid and pillage, and the dice add an element of luck on your raids, but not too much that it makes or breaks the game. It’s a well-designed game that plays smoothly and is lovely to look at - definitely recommended!

It looks great, plays great, easy to teach but makes you think on your feet. It comes with metal coins too which do make a surprising difference. Recommended.

Shem philip has been designing some wonderful games and this one is probably his masterpiece. The place one worker-take that action-pick up one worker- take that action works horribly good. The theme is quite strong. Being a Viking game you first have to prepare for your raids and recruit people into your raiding party. Then go out and rade the lands on the other side of the water, bring back bounty and pay offerings to your chieftain to gain VPs. This is easily my favourite game and it comes out on the table the most. I do tend to like Paladins of the West Kingdom (by the same designer) more but its a fairly heavier game than this one and is not usualy the people's choice on game nights. I would also like to mention that the quality of the components is amazing and the art work is really crisp. It is all wodden tokens with only 2 sheets of punch outs and to my surprise you get METAL COINS in the retail version as well.i repeat METAL COINS in the retail version. Being a viking themed game people do complain about no PvP conflict but then again every player is part of a viking tribe so there really is no need for a personal conflict atleast as far as the theme is concerned. If possible, buy boardgames from Boardgamesindis.com, Boardway India or My Games. These people deal in 100% authentic games only. There are a few sellers out there selling counterfeit games.
