Blackburn Unisex's Mountain Mirror Blank, Multicoloured, One Size

I have a mountain bike, I use it both on and off road all year round, I had a fixed mirror (right angled) on my bars for about 18 mths until it broke on a fence so I have been looking for a replacement ever since, the other mirror had taken a number of knocks over that time so I would have been happy to buy another, however, I spotted this one and thought I'd try it out, as its easy to remove for off road, I had to removed/adjust the other one with an allen key every now and again, This one fits in seconds with the velcro stap and is actually very secure, you can adjust it by hand by turning a robust plastic dial, its quick to remove for off road use and as its strait the design means its easy to store, it also has a reflector on the reverse side of the mirror, so far a very good item.

I have tried other mirrors which needed to be glued to stop them from rotating! This one holds its position once you have set it and the Velcro tape is OK if you do it up tight enough. The size is only just big enough which makes setting it to view on the vertical plane a bit tricky and could be a bit bigger, the horizontal plane is wide enough. As the mirrors are flat you can see the vehicle behind much more clearly. I used 150mm handlebar grips which helps to accommodate the space these take up on the grip. The mirror can be carried in your pocket and then attached to the handlebar once on the road. It also makes the bike 7" wider on the offside which seems to make motorists give me a bit more overtaking room.

It does the job, but very expensive for what it is!

Good budget mirror, easy to fit or move between bikes. Only negative comment is that it tends to slip out of position but on balance I regards it as an excellent safety aid, more important than a helmet to my mind (a helmet won't help me much if I end up under a lorry but a mirror might avoid me being there in the first place). Of course you can use both.

Sorry if this is a double review. Had 2 for 4 years and bought a couple more. Little vibration. Good coverage in view. Robust. The photo doesn't do it credit. It comes with a velcro strap and works well with drop handlebars. Tried on straight bars and it works but i prefer it on dropped bars. Recommended

This mirror takes seconds to fit and to remove, is easily adjustable and vibration free. The quality of the mirror cannot be faulted and it is excellent value for money. For some people it may stick out too far and be a problem when manoevering through tight spaces such as doorways or between queuing traffic but I just remove mine when necessary - better to have excellent rear vision than to see nothing more than your arm in the mirror!

I wanted an end bar mirror but the internal dimensions of the crossbar were too small for any on line makes. Bought this on reviews, which recommended it for mtbs. It's very good. Fitted in seconds over the handlebar grip and held in place by a sturdy velcro strap. This leaves enough for my rather small hands but might be uncomfortable for someone with big hands. Steady when riding and good view of cars behind as it protrudes quite a way.

I bought this on the strength of previous reviews & because I wanted something that could be swapped from one bike to another. On my partner's bike, it works well because she has thumb shift dérailleur gears. One of my bikes on the other hand, has shimano Nexus gears with a twist grip. This mirror is a bit trickier with these gears, as I find I am constantly having to adjust the mirror angle after changing gears - which of course you have to do all the time. Otherwise, I think it is a good little mirror for the money.
