Cyclus 721059 Chainring Bolt Tool

it looks pretty good, and at a tenner was a bit extravagant, but most disappointingly, the blade/spigots do not fit into the slot of a standard chainring nut. I first tried it on my Campagnolo set, and it didn't fit. Thinking Campagnolo can be odd, I then tried it on some brand new chainring nuts, and it didn't fit in them either (see picture). the construction with a pin up the middle also means it is not easy to machine it to make it fit. The pin will have to be extracted before I can get a grinder or file to it. Usefully, i found the device will dismantle, and the materiel is not hardened and can be filed, so you can actually make it work, but probably easier to stick to a screwdriver.

Very good

This is a very good, well made item for the specialised use of removing front gears. It fits well and is suffieciently sized to comfortably apply the torque needd to remove the screws. Used it a few times and no damage. Lent to a friend once and had to remind him twice to return it!
