These are great tools to keep in your car or on your keys. It also came with a piece of glass to test.

I ordered this looking for an airline compliant seatbelt cutter I could carryon. I don’t know if it will pass TSA, but I wouldn’t be afraid of a felony charge for trying. However, the keyring clip on it pulls off very easily. In the event of an emergency, this would be desirable. But I know I personally would likely lose it from my keys the first day if not the first hour of usage in this manner. Now it’s also possible the ring isn’t intended for use as I interpreted it. Maybe it is just there to hang it on a hook. Just my thoughts….

I obviously haven’t used it and hope that I never have to, but the product seems of good quality. Great value.

Works as described!!

Having just received these Emergency Car Escape Tools today I was surprised to see how small the tool is. I expected it to be much larger in size and heavier as well. I wanted to test it to see how well it would work, but without driving my car into a lake. It turns out that the manufacturer knew I'd want to test it, so they included a two inch diameter circular piece of glass for testing. One end of this small tool has a key ring attached. You pull that end off to access the recessed cutting blade, which is to cut the fabric of your seat belt if necessary in order to escape from a sinking car. The opposite end of the tool is used to strike the car window if necessary in order to escape. The instructions state to press that end against the glass window to do this. I tried to do this with the test piece of glass, and at first nothing happened. After a couple of tries I pushed a little harder and the tool made one small crack in the glass. When i finally wised up and "stabbed" the glass with a moderate amount of force the glass broke into many small pieces. It turns out that the tool itself works fine, it was just that I took the instructions literally to start with. You don't just press the end of the tool to the window, you need to stab/strike the window glass to break it & escape from a sinking car. I also tested the cutting blade on a cloth bag (rather than cutting the seat belt of my car) and it cut through quickly and easily. There are 3 of these devices in the package. I'll keep one in my car where it's easily accessible, give the 2nd one to my wife, and will have one left to give to a friend. No one ever thinks that they will be in a situation where drowning might be a real possibility, but these kinds of events DO happen! Remember, it's better to be SAFE than SORRY!

I really didn't see how this would work. They were inexpensive and looked it. I returned them
