Compostable cups wrapped in plastic...sigh
Why on earth would you make a compostable cup, and then wrap it in not one, but two plastic bags inside a cardboard box? The reason why I bought these because I thought it would be better for the planet. Recycling the plastic wrappers is not possible where I live, so it’s just a bunch more plastic going to waste. The flavor of the coffee is not impressive at all. The cups did work very well with my machine, I did not have the problems that other people where having of inconsistent puncture of the pods. I won’t be buying these again unless they change the entire packaging to be compostable!

Compostable, but also really good coffee
I love my Nespresso machine but feel bad about the amount of waste the pods generate. Prior to this I tried reusable stainless steel capsules (Seal Pods), which are OK but take some effort and still require peel-and-stick aluminum seals. They are nice for if you have a specific brand of fresh coffee you want to run through the machine, but a little annoying for everyday use. I bought the Woken pods predominantly because they are compostable. I started with a sampler pack, and these green lungo pods were my favorite by far. I actually like them as much or more than my favorite Nespresso-brand pods. The other varieties (orange and purple containers) were a bit weak for my taste.

Great company, environmentally friendly, but far too weak
Love the fact that they're no longer in plastic bags. Unfortunately they are far too weak to make espresso drinks. Water flows through the pods too fast, so I'm wondering if the coffee is either not ground fine enough or not packed tightly enough or both. They're a barely reasonable substitute when I out of Caffe Vergnano pods.. and I hate that Caffe Vergnano pods still use plastic bags.. I like the company but hope they improve their pod manufacturing so the result is actually espresso-like.

Is there another meaning of the word Lungo?
This Lungo definitely is not meant to be used with the Lungo setting on your Nespresso. It's like drip coffee diluted 50% with water. I don't want my remaining pods to go to waste, so if you make the mistake of buying these, and you're a lungo drinker, just do what I'm doing -- use two of these pods on the espresso setting. Yes, it's too weak for espresso, but it's just about right strength for lungo, and making two of them gets you the same volume as a lungo. Having to use two pods where one Nespresso pod would have done the trick is why these aren't much of a value for the money. Maybe this company can license their compostable pod technology to a company that makes good coffee? I'd really like to see these compostable pods replace the aluminum and especially the non-compostable plastic ones. Until then, I'll keep doing the aluminum Nespresso ones and taking up way too much space in my refrigerator for the recycling bag.

HARD PASS!
I love my Nespresso machine. I’ve purchased both Nespresso & Starbucks pods over the past few years. They taste like “real” espresso. I bought Woken pods because they’re compostable. However the flavor is HORRIBLE! It’s so weak & it tastes like running a regular coffee pod through the lungo cycle -watered down Like you wouldn’t believe. Nothing about this is espresso. I’ve had 5 pods of the medium espresso roast - each time trying to make it palatable. It’s hot garbage. I’m sending the rest back as it is undrinkable.

Not there yet!
I was really excited to try a completely compostable coffee pod. It was just so bad, though. Tasted like weak cardboard. We buy Bestpresso pods for our Nespresso machine but wanted to switch to compostables. Quality and taste aren’t there yet! Sorry!

Wanted to love it....but didn’t.
I am a huge fan of Nespresso but I’ve always been concerned about the pods not being very eco friendly, so I was very excited when I found this product on Amazon. I received my first shipment this week and found the carton to have a good amount of loose coffee grounds at the bottom. Turns out one of the capsules had broken. I made a few cups of coffee and wasn’t impressed at all. It was so watery. No flavor at all. Not sure if the coffee had spoiled or if it’s just bad coffee. Unfortunately I can’t return the product. Buyer beware.
