I decided to give this product a shot. It had good reviews. Very good quality and sturdy. Also cleans very easily. I would recommend this.

Very well made. Nice and heavy with a solid handle.

Good weight without tearing up the meat. Makes smashburgers cook evenly with crispy edges. Not too light or to heavy. Works as they should.

These presses are GREAT. I use them for steaks and they never disappoint. As with most other cast iron products they do rust fairly quickly so you have to wash them then dry and oil them to prevent that.

There's not a lot to these things - just a cast iron weight for grilling or cooking. But as a first time user, I wish there was even a slip of paper about care and use. I did my due diligence to look up that info and recommend anyone else who is new to using these do the same. The wood handle of one got a little scuffed, I think in shipping from rubbing against the other iron. A quick steel wool sanding buffed that out. I followed some online instructions for seasoning it. These really didn't seem pre-seasoned to me. I removed the handles before seasoning in the oven. Next time I will use the grill outside because the oil smoked up more than I expected. I used mineral oil and butcher block conditioner on the handles since they were raw wood and it seemed like that might help reduce cracking or staining later. Because the handles are just held on by two screws, this should make it easy to turn my own handle later. I think I want a larger grip as these are kind of thin but seem sufficient if you aren't abusing the tools.
