Gunfight at Comanche Creek
This is a colored movie orignially released in 1963. The story is told with narrative outling the date, place and time of the events. Audie Murphy plays National Detective Agent Bob Gifford. Gifford is sent undercover as Judd Tanner a train robber in the town of Comanche Creek. This is done after one of the under cover agents is killed by a group of outlaws. This group lead by Thorpe who is played by Deforest Kelley, break wanted men out of jail and use them to commit crimes around the area. The recently escaped convict is the only face that is shown making his reward go higher until it reaches $3500 to $4000. Then a man is hired to kill the convict and claim the reward. Upon arriving in Commanche Creek with stolen $20 gold certificates, Tanner meets Ben Brady and Marshall Shore at the saloon. They quickly arrest Tanner for the train robbery.Nillson who is employed to keep an eye on Tanner and try to learn the hideout location arrives shortly after Tanner. Nillson follows the outlaws after they break him from jail to the circle W ranch. Nillson is killed after Brady learns one of the two convicts is a National Detective. Several robberies are commited and Carter a member of the gang finally decides to help Gifford/Tanner. He rides to the Marshall to report the outlaws and is shot down by the Marshall. On the last day all of the detectives arrive in Commanche Creek just as the gang is robbing the bank. They soon learn the Marshall is the master mind of the gang. Then money is recovered and the case is closed. The movie moves at a good pace with some action. There is little gun fighting, however it is well placed and with defined purpose. The story is easy to follow and makes a good family movie.

An interesting story and a great cast. Very different DeForest Kelley, but he was great. As always Audie Murphy did not disappoint.

A Great Audie Murphy Western Movie
"Gun Fight at Comanche Creek" is one of two of Audie Murphy's BEST Westerns, the other being, Arizona Raiders. While the movie, itself, is well worth the money...my disc was flawed, i.e. the movie stopped, skipped, etc...which happens sometimes with the remastered videos...not the seller's fault, but Warner Home Video's. So, highly recommend the movie to anyone interested in good westerns, just disappointed in the quality of the particular disc I received.

Aw, Audie..why'd ya have to go?
Audie at one of his best.... but then, I have only found one or two that weren't his best. I've watched Audie's movies since I was a kid in the 50s... I've never grown tired of them. Now I try to just find one I can afford to own... this can be a difficult move. I've seen internet offers of over $130.00 for just ONE DVD!!!So, I won't go into details here about this particular flick. It is the usual... good-guy/bad guy... guess who wins and gets the girl, cowboy movie.Audie just is Audie and he does it best; in his own way...kinda like the gentle, soft-spoken little brother of the Duke. This DVD is worth the price and the memories............

Bought it to see DeForest, enjoyed the rest of the cast
I'll admit it, i'm a new star trek fan and i bought this to see DeForest Kelley as one of the outlaws. Kelley did not disappoint. His acting is different here than it is on Star Trek and you see how good of an actor the man really was. While i bought the movie for DeForest I was really impressed with Audie Murphy and I understand why he is so loved in the Western industry. I'll definitely check out some of his other movies.

A weak, later Audie Murphy western
One of the weakest of Murphy's many fine westerns. Even a veteran western cast cannot make up for the pedestrian plot and direction. An annoying narration in the flat, emotionless style common to B-movie police dramas in the 50s drones on and on, unnecessarily filling in gaps in the action.

We loved the old way western movies were done but not ...
Always been a fan of Audie Murphy Western movies since a little girl. So now I got this movie in my collection. We loved the old way western movies were done but not everyone would as some if them doesn't look realistic but I don't care still like those old western movies and this one is one of it
