Stubborn 85 year old man thought he was too big/old for a safety rail. He has a difficult time getting into/out of bed (turning over). Rail slides under mattress and has a belt to fasten to opposite side of bed. He used to worry about sliding out of bed and onto floor but this has saved him several times and has made it easier to get up when he does fall. I would suggest this for anyone older or caring for older parents. Very durable (well built) and has a nice pocket that slides on and off rail {rail does not reach floor for support}

Serves the intended purpose. Sturdy & easy to assemble even though written directions are not very detailed. As noted in other reviews, most lacking is what to do with the strap. The instructions show where to loop it on the frame but not how to secure it to the bed. I attached pictures of what I did. One part of the strap goes under the bed frame, the other part goes between the box spring & mattress. Do not secure it to the main mattress or making the bed will be impossible, not to mention not really safe.
