Purchased this book as a baby shower present for a friend who was expecting at the time. She loved the book at the time, having used some of the 'That's not my...' books with her niece and now that her baby is old enough to make use of the touchy-feely part of the book, it's now getting a little bit of use. This book was picked with a baby girl in mind, but it would do for either gender as baby chickens are real and have no known gender stereotypes attached to them. They are very simple with a number of different textures for babies and small children to interact with and I picked it out as an educational gift for the baby, knowing that it would not be used straight away but would be more useful once Baby hit 6 months old or so.

I bought this in advance for my granddaughter for Easter rather than an egg. The board is made from strong card with vibrant and clear images. The sentences are brief and words simple which make them easy for preschoolers to imitate and so build up their vocabulary. The sensory elements are perfectly sized for little hands to explore too. There are many books in this range so I will be purchasing more.
