Water Temperature Sensor Replacement Kit for AquaCal ECS0275 Heat Pump Heater STK0127

Worked perfectly for my Aquacool Heatwave unit. Got the dreaded error message and this fixed it right away.

This sensor was the exact part I needed and was easy to install after some research and videos. It saved my parents 100s of dollars with me being able to do it myself.

Our AquaCal pool heat pump had gradual drift in temperature over a few years. It trended off by a few degrees, getting worse to 15 degrees, and finally stopped working altogether with the over temp warning. This completely fixed the problem.Basically pull the pump’s fuse block, remove about 10 screws from the cover, 4 from the control box, loosen the radiator clamp, pop out the old sensor, disconnect two leads from the circuit board, cut old sensor’s wires and remove them. Then install new sensor, reusing the previous clamp, tighten with minimal force, run the new leads through a different grommet hole into the control box (it is impossible to fit them through the previous hole as it has too many wires), pushing them onto the same circuit board studs. Then zip tie the wires together, reinstall the control box lid and fuse block. Run the pool water pump at low, then high speed making sure the sensor port isn’t leaking, and this runs with a good temperature reading. If this all checks out, reinstall the cover.This replacement procedure isn’t close to the high power lines in this model. If your unit is different and has the power lines close, AFTER pulling the fuse block, short out the capacitor briefly with an insulated handle screwdriver as you would with a normal AC unit to drain residual power so you don’t get a possible shock (see YouTube videos if you are unsure about this). Our specific model is 166ARDSBPR, which is the AquaCal SQ166 series.Hope this helps.
