They say that without faith it is impossible to please the Creator. When you look up the word please in an etymology dictionary, it is derived from the Latin word, placere, which means to be acceptable, be liked, or approved. Anytime we accept, like, or approve something or someone it is because something about that thing or person resonates with us. There are only two vibrations in the universe, fear and love. Everything else is a derivative of the two. We’re told that God/The Creator/Infinite Intelligence is love. So in order to resonate or be on the same frequency with God is to operate in faith. Fear repels the things we desire or are believing for, but attracts the things of which we are afraid. Like Job said, the thing I feared has come upon me. Our subconscious minds are unbridled power that just need direction. Whatever we impress on them are things that we attract. Just like the movie Aladdin, the subconscious mind is the genie in the lamp, when it is consciously impressed/rubbed with a thought by the person asking or making a wish, it attracts the thing dwelled upon, and says, your wish is my command. Without faith you cannot resonate, vibrate, or be in frequency with God. You must realize your conscious mind is the “watchman at the gate” and its chief function is to protect your subconscious mind from false impressions. Your subconscious mind is influenced by suggestion. It simply reacts to impressions given to it by your conscious mind. It does not show a preference for one course over another. Your subconscious mind is like the soil, which accepts any kind of seed, good or bad. Your thoughts are active and might be likened unto seeds. Negative, destructive thoughts continue to work negatively in your subconscious mind, and in due time will manifest an outer experience which corresponds with them. The same applies for positive thoughts. For we know that thoughts become things. This is why we have to vigilantly watch what we think and say. The conscious mind is like a drop of water, and subconscious mind is like the ocean. The objective is to bring the two in synch. This is how things are attracted or manifested. This is what is meant by the scripture, "If two of you (conscious and subconscious mind) shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." That being said, I highly recommend reading The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy and The Complete Works of Florence Scovel Shinn: The Game of Life and How to Play It, Your Word is Your Wand, The Secret Door to Success, and The Power of the Spoken Word. They are truly life changing. There is much you will gain by reading and visually seeing the concepts in these works. You will discover and derive several affirmations that are easily applicable to your life. However, if you’re pressed for time, as many are, then you can find the audio versions of them all on youtube, where again listening to something is an easy way to make impressions on the subconscious. If I could rate this book one million stars I would! Next to the Bible this is my go to book! Florence Shinn was waaay ahead of her time as far as the so called law of attraction is concerned. She has a way with words and wisdom that draws the reader in and makes otherwise complicated subjects such as health, wealth, life and manifestation, very easy to understand. The confessions (affirmations) are simple yet powerful and easy to incorporate into the heart of the reader, especially when done on a consistent basis. I find that repeating them out loud is much more powerful. With that being said, this book has been life changing for me. It truly is a priceless gem!

I really like this book. A lot of books on manifestation are very masculine and I think this one adds a nice spiritual and emotional aspect. I love that it's 100 years old and still so relevant. I resonate with her affirmations. After I started reading this, a book company accidentally sent me a book by Bob Proctor called "Born Rich" and I definitely took that as a sign that I'm on the right track!

In an interview Louise Hay credited the book "The Game of Life and How to Play It" by Florence Scovel Shinn as her initial inspiration for her own work and her book "You Can Heal Your Life", so I ordered this, since Louise Hay's work has helped me a lot. This is a great book, a collection of all Florence Scovel Shinn's writings, including some she never published. Very interesting to see how these concepts were framed in the 1920's, etc. Still inspiring today. The book production quality is excellent, without the typos so often found in this sort of reissuance of an older work.

I’ve owned the hard copy for years, but read with the lights out on my tablet, so this was a must. I find myself constantly reading Florence’s books. There is always a nugget to gain, an affirmation that fits in my life just right or a good reminder to bring back around. I recommend her books to everyone!!

I am so glad that I made the decision to purchase this book. Im only on chapter 2, but it has already helped me so much. The text is easy to follow and read, with no errors, concise, and straight to the point. I like how there are personal scenarios and examples of how being mindful of the present moment can offer hope to a positive future. Im looking forward to reading this book and applying what I've learned.

This is a glorious book; You can take mental snippets of it and roll it over in your mind, but don’t spend too much time there, as there’s so much to learn about life and yourself, and how you process emotions based on your childhood wounds and the best way to experience life is, by active participation with others. It’s not enough to be Book-smart, you need to internalize and understand the things that you read and also have discernment over all of the information you take in, just like music or food, or social media. When studying life, remember that 1. Your mind is not your friend and 2. Don’t believe everything you think! As the brain’s only job is to keep you upright and keep your body in a state of homeostasis. 3. You are not your thoughts as thoughts are just a byproduct of the brain. This is a great book to read every year to remind yourself if you’re on the right path. Keep it simple and love your life. Life is a journey not a marathon, not a sprint. Do not resist the bad but relish all its parts because it belongs to you; There is no reason to get hung up about anything or anyone. Learn from books, but don’t be inundated by them nor by any one thing or someone else’s ideology. Remember that, philosophy is out and psychology is almost dead and your only job is to go out into the world and make the unknown known and learn from what you gain from your own experiences, not what somebody else wrote.

Amazing books! We are so lucky to have these available to us. Thank you Florance. I bought one if her books in 2013 and could never get into it. Donated the book. And I was ready for it this year. Some people may be turned off by the bible quotes, and they are overwhelming at first, but i found them to be helpful many of times to bring more clarity through their examples. After a while I got used to them and let go of my resistance, and received😊. Every day before I go to sleep, I say hello to Florance and the book, express gratitude and ask what I need to expand tonight and what will contribute? I always open it “randomly” and always read what I require clarity about… without a fail. The book is getting colorful highlights, as I find it is easier to go straight to the lines that jumped at me when I first read them.
