Q: Those of you with average ro narrow ankles - do your heels slip out of these?

No.very comfortable, very thin soles,part of the charm i guess.Can feel everything underneath.

Q: Are the sole malleable through out or just at the tow bend? Can you role the shoe up and bend it in all directions?

Yes; pretty much. I will also say the soles do seem very durable. These aren't cheap Walmart rubber soles. They are indeed very flexible. I L-O-V-E these shoes. I'd like a tan pair but they don't make them in tan.
