TR600 Landline Phone Call Recorder for Analog/IP/Digital Lines, Automatic Telephone Recording Device - 16GB

I ended up having to buy this because my portable recorder was having problems. I'm dealing with chronic attacks from telemarketers who are ignoring the TCPA and FTC Do not call lists and I need to gather evidence that will hopefully, once again, be used in court. My old recordings were used as evidence in prior cases so I am well aware of the laws and what a consumer can and cannot do. Your state must be a "one party consent state" - this means that at least one party of the phone conversation must be aware of the recording. The states were both parties must be aware the conversation is being recorded are CA, CT, FL, HI, MD, MA, MO, OR, PA, and WA. As far as the device: It's pretty straightforward. I hooked mine up without even looking at the directions. There's two sets of modular jack inputs so if you saw the bad complaint on here where the person said it would not fit their phone it appears they were trying the wrong set. One set is for headsets and one is for the home phone line setup. The recording is clear and saved as a wav file, which can be played on any Windows version using the default media player. The audio files are sorted in directories by date (every day creates a new folder) and the file name shows the year/month/day/time/phone number. It does this with both incoming and outgoing calls. Once the SD card is removed a loud annoying alarm starts beeping, so it's best to have a spare SD card ready to put in the device when you remove the original one to play on your PC. You can pick up a card reader for your computer for just a couple of bucks and this is the most common style of cards. I've only used it for a couple of days so I cannot attest to the reliability but so far it's been fine. I'm on a VoIP system using ObiTalk and it works on this type of phone system. My only complaint is that I felt the price is a little high.

This device has a user interface that should be used as a bad object lesson in compsci / human factors courses, but honestly, once you manage to figure it out, it is about as bulletproof as you can get. Once configured, it just works. And the sound quality is quite decent too. So be prepared to fiddle and cuss a bit, but the rewards are worth it.

Great equipment once you patiently experiment with it and try phone hook-ups not mentioned in the book. First, the unit arrived with a horrible rattle from within - found the memory battery (CR 2032) had jarred loose in transit. The instructions have NO MENTION of the battery or how to access it. I have experience in electronic service and repair so I was able to fix the problem myself. I then followed the book set-up and put it in service. I have multiple phones and I wanted to monitor all phones on the line, not just one as the book illustrates. I simply plugged it into the phone line, with NO PHONE connected through it. I set the recorder to record all calls (incoming and outgoing), auto on, loop on. It grabs any activity from any phone and does not interfere or stop a call blocker box, voice mail, etc, from working. It simply records line activity, and it logs numbers called/received, time, date, and audio. Watch out for state/local laws about covert recording. I live in a "single party" state where only one of the two parties (myself) must be aware of the recording in progress. IF you in a "two party" state, then both parties have to be made aware that recording is in progress. This unit has an option to play a message to that effect if needed. Have PATIENCE to experiment first to learn the menu sequences and become familiar with the options. Most of this can be done without a connection to the phone line. One caveat -- watch out for the language selection! The unit has only two choices (English or Chinese). If you accidentally get Chinese selected--unless you read Chinese, you can't get back to English (OOPS!). I understand there is a YouTube video to deal with this problem.

This recorder worked better than I ever dreamed it would. It's the recorder I've needed all my life. As a court reporter, doing depositions over the phone can be tough, especially when people speak low, mumble, there's air conditioning going, outside noises, etc. This recorder picks up CLEARLY every word mumbled into the phone. Doctors on bad connections come out clearly. People using speakerphones who are standing far away from the phone come out clearly. I'm so thoroughly satisfied! By the way, it works in speakerphone mode (the only mode I use), which isn't clear in any description of this product that I've found. The cons: The menus are hard to get to and the manual is not very clear. You can eventually figure it out though. The battery compartment is too small, so you literally have to jam the batteries in there. I have no idea if I'll be able to get them out to change them and I hope they don't end up corroding in there. They include every cable you need, but it's not clear by the directions which cable you actually need. The cable it shows that you need is actually the cable you can't use, so you have to experiment and figure out which cable is the correct one. ======================== 7-29-2025 After it working great for a couple of years, it suddenly just stopped working. Just doesn't work. Died. Died dead. No explanation. So I can't recommend it anymore.

Manual is confusing in relation to setting up correct recording mode. In some modes only certain options are available. A screen by screen menu addition would have been helpful. Side slider has no click, so it’s difficult to know if you’re in phone mode or source mode, and how these affect being in Line mode or Handset mode. Mine didn’t work properly. The device kept recording even after putting the phone down and this prevented other callers from calling as it just said line busy. The announcement.wav file is not on the website and I still do not have a response to my email weeks later. I created a file of my own but it didn’t work. The manual says it may not work on all systems - convenient. Very disappointed. Resetting time had 2010 as default, which may reveal how old this technology is.

Évaluation générale de 5 étoiles. 2022-10-17 Livraison avec Prime, donc assez rapide, de mémoire. J'ai fait livré chez un ami, puisque dans mon quartier, il y a trop de vols des paquets Amazon. On dirait presqu'ils surveillent les camions de livraison. Je suis perplexe, parce que plusieurs semblent avoir eu des problèmes avec leur machine, si je me fie aux commentaires. J'ai d'ailleurs longtemps hésité avant de commander cet appareil à cause des commentaires négatifs et j'ai donc pris une chance, ce que je ne fais jamais d'habitude. J'ai attendu plus de 7 mois avant de faire mes commentaires, parce que je voulais avoir le temps de l'utiliser et aussi de voir si la machine allait me survivre. Après autant de mois, je peux dire que je suis satisfait. La machine fonctionne très bien. Je n'ai eu aucun problème pour l'instant. Je suis même presqu'impressionné. Ça fait tellement longtemps que je l'utilise que tout me semble acquis maintenant. Ceux qui reprochent le manque d'information, sont plutôt paresseux. Désolé. Il y a des vidéos explicatives sur YouTube qui très clairs. Les liens YouTube est sur le site web de RecorderGear. Facile à trouver. D'ailleurs, c'est ça qui m'a convaincu de l'acheter finalement. Les vidéos. Vous pouvez les visionner, évidemment, avant de prendre votre décision d'achat. Par-contre, si vous espérez un manuel d'emploi sur papier, il me semble qu'il n'y en n'a pas. (Ça fait longtemps pour moi tout ça. Désolé) La qualité d'enregistrement est correct. Un peu fort mais correct. Je dis correct parce que je possède aussi un Zoom PodTrak P4, et sa qualité d'enregistrement de conversations téléphoniques, est à couper le souffle. C'est comme si la personne était avec vous (j'exagère à peine). Tandis que pour le RecorderGear, ça parait que c'est un enregistrement téléphonique. Pourquoi en avoir acheté un alors? Parce que cet appareil ne fait QUE ça. Tu le branches, et ensuite, tu l'oublies. Je n'ai pas un enregistrement manqué à date. Tout est séparé par un premier dossier par mois, comme "202210" (pour octobre 2022) puis des sous-dossiers séparés par date, comme "17" pour la date où je tape présentement mon commentaire. À l'intérieur, s'y retrouve les enregistrements de la journée, qui dans mon cas, s'enregistrent automatiquement que je décroche le combiné téléphonique. Magique. Le fichier d'aujourd'hui par exemple serait: "20222017190311-O-XXXxxxXXXX". Donc date et heure (AAAAMMJJHHMMSS), le O, je pense que c'est pour "Outgoing", et "I" pour "Incoming", j'imagine, quand c'est un appel reçu. Puis, le numéro composé ou de réception précédé du code régional, si vous avez le service d'affichage. Attention, cela demande une configuration de votre part. Tout est expliqué dans les vidéos YouTube. Les fichiers sont sous le format wav mono en 32kbps (pour les technos geek ;-) ) Malgré le fait que l'appareil soit branché sur du AC, vous pouvez y mettre 3 piles AAA en cas de panne, pour ne pas perdre votre configuration personnalisée (J'imagine. Hé, ça commence à faire longtemps que je l'ai. Ha ha ha) La carte SD (16 Gig formatée en Fat32) vient avec le produit. Si vous l'enlevez pour le transférer sur votre ordi, une alarme peu agréable sonnera. C'est la raison pour laquelle, je préfère passer par la sortie USB de l'unité. Ça m'évite ce bruit désagréable à chaque fois. Le transfert est plus lent mais c'est moins de désagréments. Voilà, voilà. Si je pense à autre chose, je ferai une mise à jour du commentaire. En gros, j'aime beaucoup. C'est mon backup mémoire. Quand je veux me rappeler d'une info dites par téléphone, je n'ai qu'à consulter l'enregistrement. La capacité est énorme, puisqueles fichiers ne sont pas très gros. Pour 2 heures d'enregistrement, le fichier pèsera presque 30 mb. Sur une carte SD de 32, 64 ou 128 gigs, c'est une pure joke! Vous en aurez pour 100 conversations de 2 heures chaque avant de vous rendre à 3 gigs d'espace utilisé. Dans mon cas, après plus de 7 mois, je ne suis rendu qu'à 1 gig de fichiers. Je n'en ai jamais effacé un seul. Je dois donc avoir une soixantaine d'heures d'enregistrées depuis mars 2022.

Bought Mar /23 and it quit working Jan/24. I phoned the number provided and the call was answered. As soon as I said the product had quit working the call was disconnected. I phone back two more times with the same result.
